CGS Australian team Sydney Underground win Reloaded 2008 Australia - On the weekend of January 26/27, Australia’s biggest LAN event so far for 2008 took place in Adelaide, South Australia. The event, titled ‘Reloaded 2008’, originally looked to have a hefty turnout of top teams from all over the country. However, for various reasons some originally expected teams decided to pull out. Still attending Reloaded 2008 however were some recognised teams, but also a various amount of unknown or pug teams, seeing a total of 22 teams compete for a first place prize of $3,000 AUD. After a late finishing first day, group stages lead to just 8 teams remaining; Sydney Underground (CGS drafted team), Sequential Gaming, Xtreme Gaming, kLaus, mfp, Subdue, Clan Beef and 0087. As many expected prior to the event, it was almost always going to be a Sequential Gaming vs. Sydney Underground grand final. With both teams overcoming every team in their path with relative ease, Underground got the better of Sequential in the semi finals, sending them to the lower bracket. Bouncing straight back after a second win against kLaus, Sequential Gaming came up against Sydney Underground again, this time on de_train. However, the talent of Sydney Underground proved too strong once again despite a slightly more significant effort by Sequential. The final placing’s for the Counter-Strike: Source event: 1. Sydney Underground ($3,000 AUD) 2. Sequential Gaming ($1,500 AUD) 3. kLaus ($750 AUD) |
