First up in this special Superbowl Edition of GotFrag's Predictions, we check in on the records of our predictors thus far in CEVO Professional CS:Source Season 5 and then it's on to the predictions. Let's take a look at just how our expert staff predictions have measured up to those of players and members of the community. This puts the Core in 3rd place in the CEVO standings with a 6-1 record, with their only loss coming against Venom. Mexico City is still winless through the first half of week 4. Although the team continues to improve statistically, they have not been able to scratch out a win other than to a BYE and are sporting a 1-6 record.
LA Complexity vs. Eximius SportsComplexity sits comfortably in 4th place this season with a 6-1 record, with the only loss coming at the hands of the Carolina Core. Complexity defeated a hot Dallas Venom 10-6 the first half of this week on Train. Eximius has had an up and down season thus far with a 3-4 record and one of those wins being a BYE. Eximius suffered a 10-0 trouncing from the Core in the first match night of Week 4.
Dallas Venom vs. Electronic Gaming EvolutionDallas is 5-2 this season with some big wins under their belt against the Core and 3D. The Venom fell to LA Complexity 10-6 the first half of this week. eGe have done well for themselves this season with a 6-1 record and the last of five teams with only one loss this season. eGe won a hard fought, overtime win against 3D in Week 4:1.
Pandemic vs. x3oPandemic is rocking and rolling in first place with a 7-1 record thus far in CEVO Pro Season 5. Pandemic's only loss this season was to the Optx in Week 2, and come into the second half of this week with a win over XFX 10-3 in the first match night of Week 4. x3o seems to have found a groove with anger and mason as they are on a three match winning streak after previously being winless in season 5. Sitting at 4-4 on the season, x3o is coming off of a big win against the Optx 10-8, in a controversial match in the first match night of week 4.
The Last Resort vs. Team XFXTLR comes into Week 4:2 with only one true win, against the Furia, giving them a 2-6 record with a BYE. The Last Resort were defeated by Devastation 10-8 in match night 4:1. Team XFX comes into match night 4:2 with an identical 2-6 record and one true defeat over Furia. XFX lost to Pandemic 10-3 in the first match night of the week.
New York 3D vs. DevastationNew York has continued to improve statistically this season but has still not been able to get a win other than a BYE and sit at 1-6. 3D was able to take a strong eGe team into overtime in match night one of week 4 but were not able to finish them off. Devastation has had an up and down season starting with an overtime win against Dallas to open the season and sit at 5-3 on the season with one BYE. Devastation defeated TLR 10-8 in the first half of week 4.
New York Giants vs. New England PatriotsThe New England Patriots are on the verge of doing what only one team in NFL history has done; complete a season undefeated. Not since the 1972 Miami Dolphins has a team completed a regular season of the NFL and went on to win the Superbowl. The New York Giants went 10-6 on the season with big wins over Dallas and Green Bay in the playoffs to reach the Superbowl. The Patriots defeated the Giants in the last game of the regular season 38-35.
