Counter-Strike Source: Fnatic.css changes line-up

By: Jack Westerman - Published February 11, 2008 at 8:08 AM EST - Writer Archive
Rutger “ylSs” Smeding has rejoined Fnatic in order to replace the now inactive Quint "Blaze" Spierenburg.
Spierenburg has cited his demanding job as the main reason for his inactivity, stating that it doesn’t give him much time to practise. Despite being marked inactive, Blaze will remain on the roster as a 6th player.

To replace Spierenburg, Fnatic announced the return of Rutger “ylSs” Smeding, who played with the team during the CGS Qualifier. During the Qualifier and Combine, he took the place of Sandor "proph" de Munck, who was unable to participate due to CGS age restrictions.

In a statement on Fnatic’s website, Rutger “ylSs” Smeding discussed his return to the team:

"I am glad to be back with the guys because I was missing them after just one month. I hope to have some fun again and dominate Europe again. I don’t doubt that we will work it out together in order to become the team to beat. It’s great to have become a Fnatic member again!"

Team leader of Fnatic.css, Luuk "darky" Verink, made the following comments on the changes:

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Quint, for now. He has been an incredible player and incredible friend to us in the past year he's been playing with us.

We have all known Rutger ever since we started the game; he's always been the 'leader' of our rival team EDiT. He's already played with us at CGS so he knows a lot about the team. He should be fitting in just fine."

The line-up of Fnatic.css is now as follows:

Netherlands Sandor "proph" de Munck
Netherlands Milan "xertion" Veeger
Netherlands Luuk "darky" Verink
Netherlands Mark "AirRaid" Koks
Netherlands Rutger "ylSs" Smeding

Netherlands Quint "Blaze" Spierenburg (inactive)
