USA - GotFrag has learned that Check-Six Gaming, a name known for many years in the e-Sports world, has announced its return to Counter-Strike: Source by picking up Team Devastation. Devastation was 7-6 during CEVO-P Season 5, just missing the playoffs in a controversial match with eventual 5th-seed LA compLexity.

Check-Six has always been a part of the CS:S scene, with many of the best players in the game once laying home here. The opportunity has presented itself for us to get back into it and support one of the best North American teams.

Team Devastation was one of the most successful teams outside of the CGS in 2007 placing 2nd at Digital life, 2nd at Summer CPL, and 3rd at Winter CPL, with an impressive record and a solid core lineup that have been together for years.

The team is set to attend the Championship Gaming Series Combine in Austin TX, this weekend to compete for their chance to be drafted into a spot on one of the six franchised teams.

"We've been in talks for a few weeks about possibly going to European tournaments," in-game leader Steve "sasquatcH" Csikos said, "and then the combine popped up so we decided to make it offical now." When asked about his feeling towards the Check-Six management, Csikos said, "Well as Matt "Fatback" Kohn is the head now, I feel there is a strong presence towards exellence and our team will try to play to our fullest. He has stated he will support us to the fullest so we will give it our all."

Csikos went to say, "It depends on how dismantled our team becomes. None of us have any idea if we'll be drafted," in response to inquiries about post-Combine tournaments and leagues.

The lineup, as it stands for the Combine this weekend, is as follows:

I wish the best for the players, but I also don't see Check-Six following through. Grabbing a team before the Combine just seems like cheap advertising to me, and something will randomly come up afterwards and cause the team to part ways.

hope check-six doesn't rip you off and lie like they've done with previous teams, gl.

I took over the organization about 4 months ago and have steadily been building it back up in order to support teams. I understand that we have a past, but I can assure you I had nothing to do with it I would never rip anyone off, and I intend on supporting these guys to the fullest.

This has actually been in the works for quite a while it was just recently rushed due to the combines timing, nothing to do with cheap advertising.

many.. but they are good enough to do that.. they can't find a sponsor that follows through on their offers; hopefully check-six is the next big step for them.

I was pretty surprised, I thought they were going to change their name to FURIA, Furia organization can use devastation lol. Furia cant even beat upper cal M teams for god sakes.

The way it was explained to me at least, they more or less just used Turmoil for CPL. This will probably happen to x6 as well.

But hey, whats better than a free ride?

Also, I'm not aware of x6 not coming through with any agreements, must've been some recent trouble in the last year or two. x6 2000-2005 at least was a very, very trustworthy and solid organization. It's a shame to see them in a slump, they need Tex back from EG. The power of two Nick Borelli's combined :]
