After just one month of inactivity, Quint "Blaze" Spierenburg has returned to fnatic.css. However, Smeding has now announced that he will be retiring from competitive gaming for good, and Spierenburg will be rejoining fnatic as an active player. Smeding revealed that he has chosen to stop playing in order to concentrate more on work and “other real life business”. The announcement follows fnatic’s revelation that they would be attending i33 with Spierenburg, rather than Smeding. Multiplay’s i33 is the UK’s largest LAN gaming event, taking place this weekend between the 21st and 24th of March at Newbury Racecourse. The Counter-Strike: Source tournament boasts a prize purse of €10,000, and around 128 teams will be in attendance. Quint “Blaze” Spierenburg gave GotFrag the following statement regarding his return to fnatic, and the i33 tournament: It feels great to be back with the guys, they're not just my gaming mates but also my friends. I’m not sure what the future holds yet, I might continue until October when I go to Australia for a year. At i33, I think we should be able to get a respectable top 3 finish, but who knows, since we only have 3 days of preparation! It will all come down to how fast I can get back in shape, since I haven’t played for almost 2 months. Fnatic’s line-up is now as follows: Sandor "proph" de Munck Milan "xertion" Veeger Luuk "darky" Verink Mark "AirRaid" Koks Quint "Blaze" SpierenburgSource: Fnatic.com |
