Today, via their IRC Channel, scant weeks after the CGS Season 2 Combine and Draft, Eximius Sports announce their new lineup and sponsors.
March 30, 2008 -In preparation for the upcoming CEVO Professional Placement Tourney and CAL-Invite Season, and on the heels of the CGS Season 2 Combine and Draft, Eximius Sports has announced a change to their lineup, picking up former Nexus Gaming players Lloyd Shaffer and Bryce "MaNtiK" Turney. During the CGS Online Tournament, Turney was good for a plus-5 point differential and 0.7 Average Frags per Round, and during CEVO-P Season 5, he had a minus-9 point differential and 0.482 Average Frags per Round. For his career, Turney has a plus-45 point differential and 0.759 Average Frags per Round. Lloyd Shaffer, besides Nexus Gaming, was part of an earlier iteration of the famous Green Berets Counter-Strike team. He has a career plus-198 point differential and 0.843 Average Frags per Round.
The Official Press Release may be found below:Eximius Sports is happy to announce two new additions to our Counter-Strike Source squad. We have gone through countless interviews and many applications. After finishing most of the interviews, we realize that there are a lot of players that are worthy of playing at the professional level. We concluded that if the Championship Gaming Series was to expand in North America, they will not be disappointed in the upcoming talent.
Eximius Sports opened up interviews and tryouts for the first time ever. We were shocked on the number of applications that were turned in. When asking Eximius Sports GM Brad Dick about the number of entries he said, “I thought there would be only about twenty to thirty people show up for the tryouts and interviews. I was quite impressed with many of the players who interviewed. Most of them really have what it takes to get to the next level, they just need a shot. I tried to give some of them a shot, but there is no way I can give two-hundred tryouts, it would exhaust my Counter-Strike Source players. They need to be getting ready for the CEVO-P Placement Tournament. ”
The Eximius Sports Organization is happy to announce Lloyd “Shaffer” Shaffer and Bryce “MaNtiK” Turney. Lloyd Shaffer returns to Eximius Sports for the fourth time, he played first for the organization when it was “w00t Gaming” at the Summer CPL 2005. At the event Lloyd was statistically the best player at the event. He went on to play for great teams like Sex Pistols, Hyper! zEx, Nexus Gaming, Check-Six, Borderline, and EFGaming. When asking Lloyd about coming to Eximius Sports he says, “Very happy to be competing at the top level again, especially with a very well established organization such as Eximius, also with a very well established CS: S Team. I look forward to playing with these guys all season, as we have been playing the past few weeks. Messiah has some great ideas on how to become a top team and I think he has the makings of a great leader. Other than that the players and overall surroundings fit perfect and look to compete more in CEVO-Professional and CAL-Invite this season.”
Bryce Turney started out his Source LAN experience also at Summer CPL 2005 under a team called, “Texas Area Untouchables.” Like Shaffer they have played on many of the same teams. They played on Sex Pistols, Nexus Gaming, zEx, and The Last Resort. Bryce brings a great rifle to the table along with his already established chemistry with Lloyd Shaffer. When asking Bryce about coming to Eximius Sports he says, “First, I would like to say that I’m very proud to be teamed up with Eximius. The players are not only phenomenal, but real chill individuals. I believe that messiaH calling will lead us to the top of our gaming careers. My expectations of the team are to be the best, nothing less. As for me, improving on in game knowledge and making every practice is a stepping stone to being that much better.”
The starting lineup for Eximius Sports is as follows:Lloyd “Shaffer” Shaffer
Jon “messiaH” Hammond
Edelreich “br1cks” Deloslado
Bryce “MaNtiK” Turney
David “Allbrook” Allbrook
