www.sourcerankings.com announces that the official season begins Sunday April 20, 2008 - Today the votes start being filed into the websites database and logged until the end of the season. There are two different polls a community poll where anyone and everyone can vote one time a week, and a invitation poll where only selected individuals can partake in the voting. The official press release was made last week in forums only; we did this to test all the bugs in the system. We are happy to say that there were no bugs found and are ready to begin the season. Source Rankings is a weekly updated North American ranking system. We vote for the top fifteen teams in Counter-Strike Source in North America. Nominations are changed weekly; teams may be removed from the polls due to inactivity, the inability to field five players, or an inconsistent winning percentage. Voting is open throughout the week, now that the season has begun; you now have the ability to vote two times a week; one time on Sunday and one time after Wednesday. Sunday the votes are archived and stored in a database. The votes will then start over for the next week. All teams will start with zero points, and voting commences once again. Voting begins on April 20, 2008; voting for season one will stop on August 3, 2008. The individuals selected for the invitation poll are all CGS CS: S players, General Managers of selected organizations in eSports, selected media, and some semi-professional players and teams. For both polls each team receives 1-15 points in the reverse order of the way they are ranked. The number one ranked team would receive a total of fifteen points for that particular vote and so on. The season playoffs will be a single elimination tournament based on the results from the voting throughout a fifteen week season; the seedings will also be based off season play. These teams will include the top fifteen teams and one wild card pick. However, if a team’s roster changes more than three players after the post-season that team is unable to compete in the playoffs. The playoffs will include CGS Counter-Strike Source rules. www.sourcerankings.com |
