Roster shakeups for U.S. Source teams in the merry month of May have the community buzzing. Jason Lake waived Justin �sunman� Summy to the Dallas Venom shortly before releasing Marcus �zet� Sundstrom and acquiring Corey �kaM� Hanes for Complexity. The Dallas Venom have now announced that Summy will be moved to the starting roster and Carson "Classified" Holt will be sent to the Dallas taxi team.

Summy is a long time Counter-Strike veteran and an alumni of the Complexity CS 1.6 team. He fired the two wall, awp "headshot heard around the world" at CPL 2002 and enjoyed success with the likes of zEx, Complexity, EFG, as a replacement player for World Champion Chicago Chimera in Season 1 and with x3o at the recent U.S. combine.

Carson "Classified" Holt was acquired by Dallas during the 2008 draft to the surprise of some in the community. The former zomblerz went into the combine as a veteran Source player under the Check Six banner in a ramped up version of the Devastation lineup. Holt had come into the combine with far less attention than others who were chosen in the draft and it was surprising to many to see him chosen over the likes of Summy, Griffin "Shaguar" Benger and others thought to be shoe-ins.

Derek "exodus" Heidinger has been released by Dallas to the free agency pool to make room for Holt on the taxi team. Griffin "Shaguar" Benger has been called up to the Complexity taxi team to replace Summy.

Update: Dallas Venom General Manager Alex "Jax" Conroy spoke with GotFrag about the roster changes:

"Classified was a great player. As we played with him we noticed some areas where he lacked experience. After some deliberation with the team, we decided to try out some possible replacements. Sunman is a player whose history speaks for itself. He was on TSG with Dominator, and simply put, is a player that delivers results. He has been a solid role player on every team he has been on and is one of the most accomplished players in the game."

Conroy went on to say, " After speaking with Justin and realizing how driven he is, after performing so well in season 1 and not being re drafted, he was the clear choice for the position. His desire, work ethic, and experience earned him a spot with the 2008 Dallas Venom lineup.>

When asked about Summy having to get permission to play for Venom from Complexity, Conroy stated, "Jason (Lake) was very easy to work with on the acquisition of Justin. Granted, this move was before he decided to make changes to his own lineup. Justin is a former coL player and Jake is a very loyal guy, he was thrilled one of his former players was getting a shot with the big boys.

i think jax is regretting not picking up hanes and exodus again... sunman is a legend but i dont think hes good enough in source to make that much of an impact

In this years draft there were 5 1.6 players cut and 5 original source players picked up in their place.

Classified will rebound and make it back again. He's already got the skill, it's only a matter of time before he can adapt to some of the 1.6 playstyles and I'm sure he'll be hungry to get back.

#12 I think Mustang was a big improvement over exodus. He apparently values exodus even less these days since he removed him from the Taxi pool in order to have Classified still as a backup option.

#20, Mustang is a great player, but your wrong about my opinion of Exodus. Derek is one of the most straight up and honest guys that has ever played for me. When Classified came to my taxi squad, I had to cut either him or heatwave and I thought that coL would pickup Derek because of their history. He's a great guy. Oh, and welcome Justin! I think you guys will be excited when you see this new lineup play.

If the match against core is any indicator Jax, it will indeed be an exciting season :)

Forgive me Jax, "value" was a relative term here. I know you respect Exodus, but between him, Classified, and Heatwave you had to make a decision. I doubt you would have cut the most skilled player of the three. Sunman is a nice pickup.

Betrayed is an extremely STRONG word. If it was a team decision you cannot lump that on Alex the way that you are. Teams make decisions like this all the time, it's a needed step. Classified is not a bad player by any means, and neither is Sunman. Truthfully I was surprised to see Classified picked up in the first place, and as it has been said, he lacked some of the experience that Venom required. That's going to happen sometimes, you don't see CEVO-M teams asking for CAL-O players to fill out their ranks, and you certainly don't see CGS teams looking for a person to be in their roster just because they've played in CEVO-P. There's just so much more to team dynamics than that.

Good, the most depressing part of that whole process is the fact that sunman didn't go to CoL, but still, sunman got his place that was rightfully his...the saddest part that he wasn't picked over hahn(on a side note, who the hell is hanh?) and classified(sidenote;same as above).

I'm sorry, but Sunman was shooting with the "big boys" before Lake or Conroy even heard of Counter-Strike. In fact, he and Josh were the "big boys" before anyone on that team ever considered themselves skilled players. Don't kid yourself Alex, having money doesn't make you a "big boy" in CS, it makes you a sponsor... Or now I guess, manager? Or owner? Oh man, I just can't keep up with the titles these days. Either way, "Sunman" is a name that draws much more attention than JMC, Dallas Venom, Jax, Zid, or the other two kids whoever they are combined. He is a Counter-Strike legend, and they don't make CS legends anymore.

haha i cant agree more 41, but you know people and there ego's trying to believe they will always be the best.. but its good that sunman a known player made it to the cgs to compete. id like to see good things from Dallas VenoM this season.

#30 I couldn't agree more with #40. When rosters change at this pro level it doesn't really have anything to do with skill or experience, because all players have that. But the manager has to give a reason and so he said what he did. In this case, it was probably that Classified couldn't adapt to the 1.6 playstyle Dominator and Zid wanted (if you want to call that "experience," so be it), because when he was on Zomblerz he beat all of the best teams on lan consistently. There's no question in my mind he can make it back to the CGS.
