The Carolina Core's season can most accurately be compared to a race where the horse dashes out into an early lead, blasting away their opponents, but towards the end of the race becomes winded and begins to slow down. Well, in the Core's case it's more like the horse was shot and instantly died, collapsing on the track with other horses whizzing by but somehow making the podium because their jockey was able to drag them across the line with only a few milliseconds to spare, but placing nonetheless.

Not much can be said about the Core's Source team except for the fact that they arn't nearly as bad as others have painted them to be. In fact, in terms of raw rounds they're the leagues 3rd best team, only seven rounds behind 3D. If pandemiCore can channel whatever it was that propelled them to a 14-4 win against 3D only three weeks ago, they have the potential to become the tide that turns the favor for the underdog team.

Fifa doesn't inspire much confidence, but as most are aware, this game is hardly ever good for more than a point or maybe two in either direction. Anomaly has a middle of the road statistical breakdown with a un-impressive 3 points against his team overall. While close, its very important to note that he has never lost against Wizakor this season.

Forza is going to be a strong component of a winning outcome if the Core is to move on in the playoffs. The duo of GeneralELive and Phantom have shown themselves to be masters of their craft, trailing the league leading NY super team by only 4 points, and historically having beat them twice out of three encounters.

Closing out with DOA we see the greatest ray of sunshine casting down upon the Darkhorses of this tournament. Offbeatninja, while still living under the Shadow of the ridiculously talented Master, has managed to secure a solid second place position, leaps and bounds above his opponent. An overall 50-42 round record lends itself to a virtually guaranteed win here. Mystik needs to get her act together here and keep it close with Coolsvilla, a feat proven difficult in the recent past.
