Lan ETS: Possibly the trough of the source rut? LanETSLanETS is running it's 6th installment of party goodness in Montreal. While the LAN will be primarily in french, most players and staff will speak English to some extent. LanETS is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN only, so make sure to bring all of your equipment. The LAN will be opening it's doors at 6PM on Friday, March 20th, and running until 6PM on Sunday, March 22nd. They already have 60 teams registered and 30 at least partially paid, so LanETS isn't a small LAN by any standards. The prizes are fairly substantial as well. Prizes always vary from year to year, but in previous years we've seen the prize money in source break down as such: $2200 for 1st place, $1400 for 2nd, and $700 for third. It will be a Double Elimination, Round Robin style tournament. The teams with the highest level of players will be placed into their own group. That being said, you can expect to see teams like Devastation, Dynamic, Synchronous and players such as Devour, clowN, and sasquatcH. Source isn't the only game they'll be offering, however. Events and Prizes•Call of Duty 4 $3500 •Counter-Strike Source $3700 •Counter-Strike 1.6 $3500 •Warcraft 3, DOTA 5vs5 $600 •Guitar Hero •NHL 2009 $400 (These prizes can and will increase) All of these games will have tournaments of some sort, so keep an eye out for these as well. They'll also be including a scavenger hunt of sorts, which is just one of a few planned events. You can find a team list here.
