ESEA CS:S-Open Power Rankings Week 2
This season so far has proved to be a very exciting one to watch. The top 3 teams have been idling in the top 3 all season, as expected, could that change next week? Check out the Power Rankings for this week!

1. GRANNY SMACKERS (West Conference 4-0; Previous: 1)

GRANNY SMACKERS made quick work of one of the better teams in the West Conference last week, insoMnia, with a 16-6 win. Then the team topped that with a 16-0 shutout over Supremacy. I don't see any opponent in the coming weeks being even remotely capable of taking this team down.

Week 3
3:1 - GRANNY SMACKERS vs. LEVELten
3:2 - GRANNY SMACKERS vs. despotic

2. Second Nature (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 2)

Second Nature had only one match in Week 2, due to a forfeit win. However that one win was an easy 16-5 defeat over Faceroll Gaming. Their upcoming matches are against fellow Power Ranked teams elemental and Packin Heat, so Week 3 will be Second Nature's first real test this season.

Week 3
3:1 - Second Nature vs. elemental
3:2 - Second Nature vs. Packin Heat

3. Back slash (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 3)

Back slash's Week 2 results are almost identical to Week 1; A close 16-13 win over an above average team (eX), along with a 16-1 win over a rather unknown team (Lights-Out). Back slash will likely keep up the win streak for quite some time.

Week 3
3:1 - Back slash vs. The High Crew
3:2 - Back slash vs. Faceroll Gaming

4. Hausen (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 5)

Besides an overtime win against RONIN, Hausen not given up more than two rounds to each of their opponents. Hausen acquired a combined 32-3 score in Week Two, showing no signs of weakness whatsoever.

Week 3
3:1 - Hausen vs. Equipoise<
3:2 - Hausen vs. EXTREMITY

5. Area51 Gaming (Central Conference 3-1; Previous: 24)

Area51 Gaming easily bounced back from last week's low ranking by soundly defeating Sure-_-Shot 16-5 in Week 2. This team also topped Rise of Abundance 16-5, earning 11 rounds on T-side inferno. However, Area51's win over Sure-_-Shot is one of the highlights of Week 2 that earned them a huge move-up.

Week 3
3:1 - Area51 Gaming vs. SoldierX
3:2 - Area51 Gaming vs. eX

6. eXe Gaming (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 9)

eXe Gaming once again demolished their opponents in two straight matches, winning 16-1 and 16-2. However, eXe has been able to slide by thus far avoiding any of the more difficult teams. Week 3 will be a true test of this team's talent, especially when facing Crucial Connexion.

Week 3
3:1 - eXe Gaming vs. Veritas
3:2 - eXe Gaming vs. Crucial Connexion

7. ViN (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 8)

ViN had yet another successful week, though none of the wins were against notable opponents. Nonetheless, their 16-5 win over Emegergence was quite impressive with 12 ViN's rounds coming on T-side. In the coming week, they'll take on their two most difficult opponents thus far as ViN meets up with afraid and Body Count.

Week 3
3:1 - ViN vs. afraid
3:2 - ViN vs. Body Count

8. Crucial Connexion (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 7)

Crucial Connexion has yet again faired very well against their opponents in Week 2 with 16-1 and 16-9 wins. Though those scores were expected considering their opponents were far less experienced. Crucial's match against eXe gaming could change the team's ranking drastically next week whether that be for the better or for the worse.

Week 3
3:1 - Crucial Connexion vs. eXe Gaming
3:2 - Crucial Connexion vs. expect NO mercy

9. Vindicated (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 12)

In their first match of Week 2, Vindicated shut out their opponent, eX, 15-0 on CT side of de_inferno and eventually went on to win the match 16-6. They followed up that incredible performance with a 16-5 win over DAT NIGGA, with 10 of those rounds coming on T-side of de_inferno. Vindicated it edging closer and closer to the top of the Central Conference standings.

Week 3
3:1 - Vindicated vs. EXTREMITY
3:2 - Vindicated vs. GoingPostal

10. afraid (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 13)

Afraid again made quick work of their opponents in Week 2 with 16-1 and 16-8 wins. While the team has looked very promising this far at 4-0, this was for the most part expexcted considering afraid hasn't faced any notable opponents. With ViN and Maine Event coming up, Week 3 will be more telling of this team's talent.

Week 3
3:1 - afraid vs. ViN
3:2 - afraid vs. Maine Event

11. Packin Heat (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 14)

It's been smooth sailing for Packin Heat thus far. This team has kept every opponent to 8 rounds or less, despite starting on the generally more difficult side of each map being that they were the away team four times in a row. Packin Heat's ranking will likely change drastically in either direction next week as their next four matches are all against Power Ranked teams

Week 3
3:1 - Packin Heat vs. sexy64
3:2 - Packin Heat vs. Second Nature

12. Equipoise (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 10)

Along with a forfeit win, Equipoise defeated Kickban by a 16-12 score last week. For the most part, Euipoise played very well but the score was a bit closer than this team is capable of which granted the team a slight move down in the rankings. The upcoming week could be one of this team's most difficult throughout the entire season.

Week 3
3:1 - Equipoise vs. Hausen
3:2 - Equipoise vs. Sure-_-Shot

13. sexy64 (Central Conference 4-0; Previous: 19)

It was another great week for sexy64 that included a 16-3 win over fuSe and a 16-9 win over EXTREMITY, the more signficant victory that came over a decent team. In the fuSe match, sexy64 earned an impressive 12 rounds on T-side of de_inferno. In a conference of very talented teams, I'm not sure how much sexy64 can go. We'll find out more in the coming week as they take in Packin Heat.

Week 3
3:1 - sexy64 vs. Packin Heat<
3:2 - sexy64 vs. The High Crew

14. Alliteration (West Conference 3-1; NEW)

Besides an expected Week 1 loss to the GRANNY SMACKERS, Alliteration has been a very solid team early on. In Week 2, the team defeated despotic 16-3, followed by h1n1 16-6. Even though it is early in the season, it is looking like Alliteration has a great chance of finishing in second in the West Conference.

Week 3
3:1 - Alliteration vs. insoMnia
3:2 - Alliteration vs. No Gag Reflex

15. Body Count (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 15)

Body Count received two forfeit wins in Week 2, so they are holding steady at rank 15 for now. At 4-0 the team is near the top of the East Conference standings. With a match coming up against ViN, Body Count will meet their first real challenge of the season.

Week 3
3:1 - Body Count vs. Blight-ggt
3:2 - Body Count vs. ViN

16. Sure-_-Shot (Central Conference 3-1; Previous: 4)

Sure-_-Shot had little trouble taking down GoingPostal, but their match against Area51 Gaming was a disaster. Sure-_-Shot is still one of the better teams in the league, but they've dropped this week for not even putting up much of a fight in what I expected to be a fairly even match-up against Area51 Gaming. Nevertheless, this team is absolutely still worthy of the top 25 because Sure-_-Shot has done well in the other matches.

Week 3
3:1 - Sure-_-Shot vs. Faceroll Gaming
3:2 - Sure-_-Shot vs. Equipoise

17. Eazy 5 (East Conference 4-0; Previous 18)

With a new team name, reminiscent of the EZ5 of the early CS:S days, Eazy 5 topped both Team Monster and Radium in Week 2. However, with winning scores of 16-11 and 16-14 respectively, the team made a slight drop in the rankings because simply other teams outperformed them. Still, I expect Eazy 5 to stay in the top 25 for quite some time.

Week 3
3:1 - Eazy 5 vs. Maine Event
3:2 - Eazy 5 vs. ruB 2 oFF

18. Veritas (East Conference 4-0; Previous: 20)

Veritas' only match of the week (the other was a forfeit win) was a 16-12 victory over Asylum. That win gives them a slight boost in the rankings as Asylum is a fairly experience team but Veritas' will have a chance to make a real impact in Week 3 against eXe Gaming.

Week 3
3:1 - Veritas vs. eXe Gaming
3:2 - Veritas vs. Theory

19. Addicted (Central Conference 4-0; NEW)

With a 16-7 win over 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress, Addicted makes their Power Rankings debut this week. Addicted held their opponents to only two rounds in the first half of the match and team member halfwaykrook ranked consistently high in the stats.

Week 3
3:1 - Addicted vs. GoingPostal
3:2 - Addicted vs. elemental

20. 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress (Central Conference 3-1; Previous: 11)

1 Deagle Beagle Xpress fell to Addicted last week by a 16-7 score, marked by a very poor T-side of de_inferno. On the other hand, they made up for the loss with a 16-2 win over Endless Gaming. Their 16-7 loss makes me question this team's consistency, but nonetheless they've proven to be top 25 worthy.

Week 3
3:1 - 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress vs. Mika Gaming 2
3:2 - 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress vs. Freaking Awesome Gamers

21. The High Crew (Central Conference 4-0; NEW)

The High Crew makes their Power Rankings debut this week after going 4-0 in the first two weeks. In Week 2, this team defeated Coast 2 Coast 16-14, followed by viper- 16-8. We'll know if this team is for real by the end of Week 3 as both Back slash and sexy64 are coming up on The High Crew's schedule.

Week 3
3:1 - The High Crew vs. viper-
3:2 - The High Crew vs. Back slash

22. Freaking Awesome Gamers (Central Conference 4-0; NEW)

Freaking Awesome Gamers make their debut this week following a 16-4 win over viper-. Despite being 2nd in the Central Conference, this team has two forfeit wins on their record so they'll need to prove themselves in the coming weeks.

Week 3
3:1 - Freaking Awesome Gamers vs. Scoreboard Bitch
3:2 - Freaking Awesome Gamers vs. 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress

23. ruB 2 oFF (East Conference 4-0; NEW)

ruB 2 oFF makes their debut into the Power Rankings this week with four straight wins. However, three of those wins were by 6 rounds or less and they've yet to face a true challenge. Therefore, ruB 2 oFF is barely hanging on to the top 25 and will need to perform well in the coming week to stay on the list.

Week 3
3:1 - ruB 2 oFF vs. Theory
3:2 - ruB 2 oFF vs. Eazy 5

24. Waste Management (East Conference 3-1; NEW)

Waste Management has slid by into the top 25 with two wins in Week 3, including an overtime win over expect NO mercy and a 16-2 defeat against PzcaKe. Along with the top 25 power rankings, more important Waste Management is placed quite high in the East Conference.

Week 3
3:1 - Waste Management vs. UnderPressure
3:2 - Waste Management vs. Team Monster

25. Hugs and Kisses (West Conference 3-1; NEW)

While the are plenty of teams that that are worthy of the final spot in the top 25, I'm giving it to Hugs and Kisses this week being that they have shown to be one of the better teams in the West Conference. In Week 2, Hugs and Kisses won 16-12 over No Gag Reflex and defeated Supremacy in overtime. They'll need some big wins in the coming week though to maintain this spot.

Week 3
3:1 - Hugs and Kisses vs. despotic
3:2 - Hugs and Kisses vs. insoMnia
