ESEA CS:S-Open Power Rankings Week 3
The first three weeks of ESEA CS:S-Open are in the books. Only nine teams remain undefeated across all three conferences. That is sure to change in the coming week as many of the 6-0 teams go head-to-head. Check out the Top 25 Power Rankings to find out which teams are on fire right now going into Week 4.

1. Second Nature (Central Conference 6-0; Previous: 2)

As the #1 team in the Central Conference, Second Nature also earned the 1st place spot in the Power Rankings with another two huge wins in Week 3. In the first match, SN easily defeated elemental 16-6 and topped that match by dominating Packin Heat 16-1. With those wins, Second Nature dethroned the GRANNY SMACKERS who had two forfeit wins last week. However, SN will need to be even more impressive in the coming week to retain this spot.

Week 4
4:1 - Second Nature vs. Equipoise
4:2 - Second Nature vs. sexy64

2. GRANNY SMACKERS (West Conference 6-0; Previous: 1)

The GRANNY SMACKKERS are in a tricky situation this week in regards to the power rankings. The team shouldn't be punished for receiving two forfeit wins in Week 3, but since Second Nature had a very successful Week 3, the GRANNY SMACKERS dropped one slot. But nonetheless, they remain near the top of these rankings because they are a very talented team that haven't shown any signs of weakness thus far this season.

Week 4
4:1 - GRANNY SMACKERS vs. No Gag Reflex
4:2 - GRANNY SMACKERS vs. insoMnia

3. Equipoise (Central Conference 6-0; Previous: 12)

Equipoise had two of the most significant wins last week that rightfully earned them a huge move-up from last week's 12th spot. In Week 3:1, Equipoise shocked Hausen with a 16-5 win - somewhat of an upset considering Hausen was a playoff team from last season and a previous high power ranked team. Equipoise continued their dominance by running over Sure-_-Shot with a score of 16-9. Fantastic results from Equipoise in Week 3 against some two of the better Central Conference teams.

Week 4
4:1 - Equipoise vs. Second Nature
4:2 - Equipoise vs. Addicted

4. Area51 Gaming (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: 5)

Besides Area51 Gaming's slip-up in Week 1:1, the team has had nothing but positive results. Every opponent was held to five rounds or less in each match-up. In addition to a forfeit win, Area51 easily topped eX last week by 16-4, with 12 of those rounds coming on T-side of de_cpl_strike.

Week 4
4:1 - Area51 Gaming vs. 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress
4:2 - Area51 Gaming vs. Freaking Awesome Gamers

5. Back slash (Central Conference 6-0; Previous: 3)

While Back slash did manage to go 2-0 in Week 3, their match against The High Crew was much closer than this team is capable of. Back slash barely edged by with a 16-13 win but made up for that score in the next match with an easy 16-1 victory over a rather mediocre team, Faceroll Gaming. The reason the team dropped two slots because of the closer than expected score. However, they are still worthy of the top five based on their numerous 16-1 and 16-2 scores this season.

Week 4
4:1 - Back slash vs. elemental
4:2 - Back slash vs. Vindicated

6. Crucial Connexion (East Conference 6-0; Previous: 8)

Crucial Connexion had yet another successful week, with their most notable win coming against the powerful eXe Gaming team, one of Crucial's East Conference rivals from Season 2. Crucial won that particular match in overtime on de_cpl_strike. Next up for Crucial was the Mad Ninjas, who they easily demolished by a score of 16-7. With three of their four upcoming matches against current 6-0 teams, Crucial has some work ahead of them should they wish to remain undefeated as well as high in the power rankings.

Week 4
4:1 - Crucial Connexion vs. ruB 2 oFF
4:2 - Crucial Connexion vs. Eazy 5

7. afraid (East Conference 6-0; Previous: 10)

Afraid is the somewhat unexpected leader of the East Conference after Week 3 with a 6-0 record and an impressive Rounds Won/Rounds Lost ratio. In their first appearance last week, afraid defeated devour's team, ViN, easily by a score of 16-7. Surprisingly, their next match against Maine Event was the closer of the two matches, where afraid edged out their opponents in overtime. Afraid's undefeated record will be challenged in the upcoming week as they face two 6-0 teams; Eazy 5 and Veritas.

Week 4
4:1 - afraid vs. Veritas
4:2 - afraid vs. Eazy 5

8. Eazy 5 (East Conference 6-0; Previous: 17)

Eazy 5 made yet another drastic move in the rankings and the standings with two huge wins over former power ranked teams, Maine Event and ruB 2 oFF. With a combined score of 32-4 in Week 3, Eazy 5 is starting to emerge as one of the strongest in the East Conference. Week 3 was a huge improvement from the double-digit rounds scored against Eazy 5 in previous weeks. Their hands will be full in their upcoming three matches against fellow 6-0 teams.

Week 4
4:1 - Eazy 5 vs. afraid
4:2 - Eazy 5 vs. Crucial Connexion

9. Veritas (East Conference 6-0; Previous: 18)

As another 6-0 team in the East Conference, Veritas also made a huge jump in the rankings this week with two rather close wins. The most notable of those two wins was an overtime victory against eXe Gaming. The other win was 16-13 score against Theory. That second match was a bit closer than Veritas is likely capable considering Theory is an ESEA-open average team, but nonetheless with an undefeated record after six matches, the team proved worthy of a higher power ranking.

Week 4
4:1 - Veritas vs. afraid
4:2 - Veritas vs. Body Count

10. Freaking Awesome Gamers (Central Conference 6-0; Previous: 22)

Of all the undefeated teams remaining in the Open division, Freaking Awesome Gamers is the team and roster I'm least familiar with. Nonetheless, their record and scores stand out considering this team has held every opponent to single digit rounds. In Week 3, the Freaking Awesome Gamers topped Scoreboard Bitch 16-9, followed by a 16-6 victory against the 1 Deagle Beagle Xpress. Though with two forfeit wins on their record and a lack of higher skilled opponents, the Freaking Awesome Gamers are the lowest ranked of the 6-0 teams for now.

Week 4
4:1 - Freaking Awesome Gamers vs. Area51 Gaming
4:2 - Freaking Awesome Gamers vs. elemental

11. Alliteration (West Conference 5-1; Previous: 14)

Aside from the GRANNY SMACKERS, Alliteration is well in control of the remaining West Conference teams. With five straight wins, all by 7 or more rounds, Alliteration is in a great position to secure the sole 2nd spot in the West Conference standings. In Week 3, they defeated insoMnia by a score of 16-5 and No Gag Reflex by a score of 16-3. Alliteration currently shares 2nd place with Hugs and Kisses, though that will likely change as these teams will meet up twice in the same week on de_nuke.

Week 4
4:1 - Alliteration vs. Hugs and Kisses
4:2 - Alliteration vs. Hugs and Kisses

12. Sure-_-Shot (Central Conference 4-2; Previous: 16)

Sure-_-Shot dropped their second match of the season in Week 3 in their 16-9 loss to Equipoise on de_cpl_strike. The team did manage to balance that loss out with a 16-1 win over Faceroll Gaming. Now that Sure-_-Shot has lost to both Area51 Gaming and Equipoise by more than 7 rounds, I question whether the team is even capable of cracking the top five in the Central standings.

Week 4
4:1 - Sure-_-Shot vs. inevitable Loyalty
4:2 - Sure-_-Shot vs. Packin Heat

13. ViN (East Conference 5-1; Previous: 7)

ViN's huge 16-7 loss to afraid this past week is the reason behind the team's drop in the rankings. The team redeemed that loss with an overtime win over Body Count but still, that score was closer than I would expect from ViN's talented roster. Likely de_cpl_strike was just a weak point for the team and I imagine they'll bounce back in the coming weeks with scores more similar to Week 2 (16-5, 16-6).

Week 4
4:1 - ViN vs. ruB 2 oFF
4:2 - ViN vs. eXe Gaming

14. GoingPostal (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: Unranked)

After being absent for a week, GoingPostal returned to the Power Rankings after a sweep of Week 3. In the first match, GoingPostal handed Addicted their first loss of the season with a 16-11 victory. Vindicated also received their first loss of the season at the hands of GoingPostal with a 16-8 final score. By taking down two previously undefeated, power ranked teams by fairly decent scores, GoingPostal is heating up once again.

Week 4
4:1 - GoingPostal vs. fuSe
4:2 - GoingPostal vs. EXTREMITY

15. Vindicated (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: 9)

Vindicated slipped up in Week 3 with a somewhat unexpected 16-8 loss to GoingPostal, considering prior to that match, every opponent scored no more than eight rounds. However, with a 16-8 win against EXTREMITY also in Week 3 and an overall 5-1 record, Vindicated is able to retain a position near the middle of the Power Rankings.

Week 4
4:1 - Vindicated vs. Packin Heat
4:2 - Vindicated vs. Back slash

16. Packin Heat (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: 11)

Packin Heat went 1-1 in Week 3 after taking on two fellow power ranked teams; Second Nature and sexy64. In the first match, Packin Heat was obliterated by 1st place Second Nature in a 16-1 final score. While most expected Packin Heat to lose, it was disappointing to see they weren't able to at least hang with some of the top guns in the Central Conference. Still, they managed to regain some dignity by edging out sexy64 in a match that went into overtime. Packin Heat should continue to float near near the upper portion of the standings, but it is not looking like they'll be able to break the top three anytime soon.

Week 4
4:1 - Packin Heat vs. Vindicated
4:2 - Packin Heat vs. Sure-_-Shot

17. sexy64 (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: 13)

Sexy64 was handed their first loss of the season in Week 3 as they fell to Packin Heat in overtime on de_cpl_strike, which is the reason for their slight move down this week. However, the team's 16-7 win against The High Crew in Week 3 proves the team is still one of the better groups in the Central Conference. Similar to Packin Heat, they may not crack the top three but sexy64 should maintain a winning record throughout the season.

Week 4
4:1 - sexy64 vs. Hausen
4:2 - sexy64 vs. Second Nature

18. Addicted (Central Conference 5-1; Previous: 19)

Addicted was another previously undefeated team that dropped their first match in Week 3. That loss came against GoingPostal in a 16-11 final score on de_cpl_strike. But similar to Packin Heat and sexy64, Addicted also bounced back with a fairly significant win. By easily defeating elemental with a 16-7 score, Addicted jumped up a few slots in the power rankings as well as in the Central Conference standings.

Week 4
4:1 - Addicted vs. The High Crew
4:2 - Addicted vs. Equipoise

19. EXTREMITY (Central Conference 4-2; Previous: NEW)

EXTREMITY's results have been flaky all season long, including losses to sexy64 in Week 2 and Vindicated in Week 3, while barely managing to top iaqptbcspe in a 16-14 win. Still, the team's 16-7 win over Hausen, a season two playoff team, is significant enough for a debut in the Power Rankings. Though I'm still skeptical as I don't imagine you'd see the same results on a map like inferno or d2, based on EXTREMITY's previous performances.

Week 4
4:1 - EXTREMITY vs. Faceroll Gaming
4:2 - EXTREMITY vs. GoingPostal

20. Waste Management (East Conference 5-1; Previous: 24)

Waste Management moved to a 5-1 record, good enough for 5th place in the East Conference, after two wins in Week 3. The team knocked off Team Monster by a score of 16-11 and then easily defeated TotheDome 16-6. While Waste Management has yet to face any of the more difficult East Conference teams, their results are still significant enough for a spot in the top 25.

Week 4
4:1 - Waste Management vs. TotheDome
4:2 - Waste Management vs. Theory

21. Blight-ggt (East Conference 5-1; Previous: NEW)

With a 5-1 record heading into Week 4, Blight-ggt makes their first appearance on the Power Rankings this week. In their first match on de_cpl_strike, Blight-ggt took down Body Count in a final 16-12 score. They topped that with an easy 16-5 win against Mads Ninjas. Blight-ggt is a rather unknown team in the East Conference, but at 5-1, they've proved to be contenders thus far.

Week 4
4:1 - Blight-ggt vs. Maine Event
4:2 - Blight-ggt vs. TeachMe

22. Hugs and Kisses (West Conference 5-1; Previous: 25)

Going into Week 4, Hugs and Kisses are tied for 2nd place in the West Conference with Alliteration, though that will change this week as the two meet up in back-to-back matches. Besides a forfeit win, Hugs and Kisses defeated insoMnia in an overtime match on de_cpl_strike. The team gave up more rounds than expected, but the W is what counts for now and their 5-1 record is looking good.

Week 4
4:1 - Hugs and Kisses vs. Alliteration
4:2 - Hugs and Kisses vs. Alliteration

23. Hausen (Central Conference 4-2; Previous: 4)

Hausen dropped almost 20 spots this week after going 0-2 in their latest matches. In the team's defense, they did take on two more difficult opponents in EXTREMITY and Equipoise. But with final scores of 16-5 and 16-7 respectively, the team just rolled over without even putting up a fight which is reason for the huge rankings drop. This team is surely capable of better (see: season 2).

Week 4
4:1 - Hausen vs. sexy64
4:2 - Hausen vs. The High Crew

24. Body Count (East Conference 4-2; Previous: 15)

Body Count went 0-2 in Week 3, but with very close scores against two fellow power ranked teams, they've managed return to the rankings for another week. Body Count unexpectedly dropped their first match to Blight-ggt by a score of 16-12. The team obviously improved in the next match against a more experience opponent, ViN, but still lost in overtime. By earning a hefty number of rounds despite losing, Body Count is one of the higher 4-2 teams in the standings at 9th place.

Week 4
4:1 - Body Count vs. eXe Gaming
4:2 - Body Count vs. Veritas

25. inevitable Loyalty (Central Conference 4-2; Previous: NEW)

Riding a 4-game win streak, inevitable Loyalty makes their Power Rankings debut this week. On de_cpl_strike, inLo easily knocked off the CHAMP CITY ballers by a final score of 16-2 and then went on to defeat team w00t 16-8. Looking at the standings, inevitable Loyalty will need to have pull out some big wins in the coming weeks because there are 16 very talented teams seeded above them in the Central Conference.

Week 4
4:1 - inevitable Loyalty vs. L2P
4:2 - inevitable Loyalty vs. Sure-_-Shot
