Counter-Strike Source: CAL Invite Source S2 Wrap-Up

By: Jason Bass - Published June 15, 2005 at 10:32 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The first season of CAL-Invite Source has come to the playoffs. Check out a team by team break down of some of the top Source teams in this article.

Team Overviews

Team: Ninja Noggin Men
Record: 5-11-0
Gotfrag's Prediction: 4-12-0

Info: Not much to say here really. This team was predicted to do pretty badly and they lived up to everyone’s expectations with a 5-11-0 record and are one of the last teams in the league. Although they did terribly record wise, I will give them some credit for having 185/245 rounds won/lost, which is fairly good for their record. Had their 4 close matches gone in nnm's favor they would be in playoffs right now. Maybe they can improve on this season and practice hard and do well in Season 2. If they don’t get demoted that is.

Key Wins: None
Key Losses: 13-17 Forbidden, 17-19 Mild, 13-17 Genetic, 14-16 Devistation

Seed In Playoffs: Missed Cut

Team: Minutemen
Record: 3-13-0
Gotfrag's Prediction: N/A

Info: Not really sure about this team. This lineup definitely wasn't around at the beginning of the season probably not even at the half of the season. The last few matches this team has played have been blowouts with forfeit win's and losses. Not sure if they deserve to be in Invite so there is a good chance they will be demoted next season.

Key Wins: None
Key Losses: A lot

Seed In Playoffs: Missed Cut

Team: Check-Six
Record: 5-11-0
Gotfrag's Prediction: 9-7-0

Info: This team really fell off the log this season. Before the start of this season most people thought they would be contenders for playoffs but after losing a few matches they had a roster shakeup. Then after losing some more they had another one. This really isn’t the same lineup that started at the beginning of the season but unfortunately they are victims of their team’s previous losses.

Key Wins: None
Key Losses: 14-16 TEC, 14-16 Pandemic, 11-19 Forbidden, 12-18 Sun, 14-16 Mild

Seed In Playoffs: Missed Cut
