Got into Counter-Strike from some AOL friends of mine I used to program with who were hooked to it in Summer of '99. They wanted me to go buy Half-Life and I ended up going to best buy around December to buy it.. but I was retarded and accidentally bought Opposing Forces thinking it would include Half-Life with it (doh!) So I was fucked for a year or so while they enjoyed the game and I was too lazy to go exchange it.
Flash forward about 9 months and my friend just bought Half-Life to try it out.. he being on 56k had no use for online play really so he burned me a copy and gave me his CD key for me to use (I had Road Runner) and so began my gaming experience around Beta 7.1. I remember the bitch of a time I had trying to even load up the game with no idea how to get out of the 320x240 software resolution but I managed it finally and went to 800x600.
My first map, I remember, was de_aztec as a terrorist and I encountered even more troubles trying to get out of the water.. it truly took a master to duck-jump that high :P My game froze and I thought my computer was going to crash but low and behold train loaded up (my fav map to this day).. I remembre feeling like such a gangbanger as a terrorist running up the stairs with those random people who looked like thugs. I've been hooked to the game ever since..
My first home (I guess) was Uncle Steve's.. then I moved to Fields of Blood with some friends after Steve's dissapeared, then Woo-Fu's Dojo which I was banned for "cheating" twice.. back to FoB, then to ASY which my friend introduced me too and where I was at with my next clan: Fleeing the Funny Farm. After our first season we merged with our alter-ego GREAT friend clan hand of god (|f5|) which is where I'm at now :D
