KY LAN OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED: http://www.mogers.latelatelate.com/DODusopen/ After speaking with Mr. Taylor Graf we have both come to the conclusion that KY Lan would indeed pull more teams, and that it would be better suited to have myself run the tournament with my experience, and the experience of the KNOXville lan players. The PA Lan has been withdrawn and Kentucky LAN is now official.
After meeting with the owner of Dink's Cafe today he said he would gladly hold a tournament for us any weekend we would like.
Memorial Day Weekend:
I have attended tournaments here, as well as most of the Knox guys, and they are the best run tournaments any of us have been a part of. The LAN center was featured on our local news:
I also snagged some pictures of the lan center for you all to look at. I'll upload them as the day goes on.
I can personally oversee and run the tournament. I helped at w2z, and also helped get us CPL 06'
If you all want to stick with PA that's fine, we can set this up for a later date, but I strongly think this tournament has the potential to be a lot bigger if you all think about it.
I can also sleep probably 3 teams at my house, not my mommy's house. As long as you can deal with me and my roommate, which I doubt anyone would be opposed to that, if you saw the w2z pics.
Specs for the LAN Center: 49 PC's 10 of those have LCD's which leaves about 37 PC's with CRT Monitors. 2 Ginormous TV's in the back lan'd together with nice couches. Intel Core 2 Duo E6400's 8800 GTs 640 Mb Version M4680I SLi Motherboards 2 Gigs of Ram Mx310's Logitech Keyboards Plantronic Game Comm 1's Headsets Each computer has 19" CRT Monitors The pc's also have ports on the front to hook up your peripherals
As I said before; I will support whichever LAN would have the greatest turnout. If this one would have a greater turnout then I'd support this, but we need to get some promise from both PA and KY.
I like Christian's idea -- PM each team that is SERIOUS (has attended previous LANs) about attending KY vs. PA and see what the team turn out would be.

I think this is the most over played joke on gotfrag since d block... can we stop, just so we are clear, it's not funny... maybe the first 400 times but after we past 500 it got really lame...
We have played at CZ lan, loved it, and won there.
It is more of my support for the lan center going into my decision, but at the same time, KY is just as far for Northeastern folk as it is for you Bush-lovers in Texas. Not only that, but I live in VA, and KY is more of a hick state and I'm trying to leave VA for something better.
Last but not least, those who are complaining about leaving Texas for PA should keep this in mind: you had 2 if not 3 lans in your own state that you attended. For many of us a few years ago, money was a problem and we could not attend. You should all have jobs by now and can make the trip out here to benefit us and those who did in fact spend the money the past few years to head out to Texas. Maybe you should have played source, because Sean is probably using the ticket he won to fly out from California. Sorry Mogers, but that is the truth: they can show up, they just are being Jewish about it. Oh, the coconuts of irony that just dropped.
Finding tickets, even at the last minute, usually isn't that big of a deal. I flew out to San Diego from Texas a week ago and only spent like $180 round trip and I bought my tickets like a week prior. If you really want to go to whatever LAN has the bigger turnout, you'll save some money and go either way.
#revamped - SVC - ~ Why am I the only one in mid? ~
Why not make it a double lan? Just lan mem weekend at PA then everyone chips in for a bus rental and we drive down to KY for the other lan. Chip in again for another bus for the way back.
We're finding out who can go to PA LAN that can't go to KY LAN, and who can go to KY LAN that can't go to PA LAN. Pick the bigger number for the LAN to support.
#16 there are an equal amount of people being "jewish" about not going to KY because it's not in their "home territory" that point is pretty void. I'm trying to be impartial about this and see which one will get the bigger turnout. Kirk and his boys are in the most part supporting PA, but at least they're being impartial and realize the potential in this. Grow up.

I fail to see any sort of irony in any of the posts here coconut or otherwise.
