I'm a Laker fan since I was 7, but I still know Celtics are going to win it all if they play the way they are now.
I'll give the Lakers at least western conference finals, possibly nba finals...then the young team will drop the ball. I don't think they are ready yet.
It's funny you say that considering any team in the west playoff top8 could realistically beat all 7 other teams in the east (exlcuding the celtics of course)

MVP is a joke and has been for a few years. Kobe started the season being the biggest cry baby saying he didn't even want to play with the Lakers, then they bring an all-star in and HE'S the MVP? What a joke.

lebron averaged 30 7 and 7(which only mj and oscar robertson have EVER done) and got his team home court in the first round on a team that was different every night. they were also like 0-6 without him. oh and if i remember correctly the lakers lost to the bobcats and grizzlies in consecutive games without gasol. i mean cmon
I am from Cleveland and I'm bias, but really Most VALUABLE player?
Lebrons numbers are amazing and he's had to with two sets of players - most of which were hurt. Either Lebron or Chris Paul. Paul has played well and done a good job at leading that team much farther than anyone expected, so I would have no problem with him winning it.

You hear about LeBron struggling a lot, but you don't hear that about Kobe. Kobe is always on. He and Chris Paul make the biggest impact on their teams out of anyone. LeBron is playing in the East right now and sitting at the 4 seed.
Well reason is LeBron isn't in it, is basically because his team isn't winning. They are barely pulling about 46 wins in the Eastern Conference. If you had 46 wins in the Western Conference, you wouldn't be in the playoffs at all. That pretty much kills off LeBron's chances at it.
I do agree that Paul has a high chance to win, it's either KB24 or CP3.
You're right Lebron's 30/7/7 really is struggling. Again, consider 80% of the starters had been traded or hurt, it's hard to win games. Kobe wins because he has better than good players on his team, if he was off the team, they'd still win some games. Not the 'most' valuable in my eyes.

#20, if ur going with that basis for MVP, why didnt kobe win an mvp the season when he scored 82 points in one game and set a variety of other records such as having consecutive 50 pt and 40 pt games, while getting his team into the playoffs as a 6th seed with SMUSH PARKER, LUKE WALTON and KWAME BROWN in their starting lineup in the WEST?
I could at least go 20/6/6 in the East. Up until last week only the top 3-4 teams were over .500.
Kobe should win the MVP because he made everyone around him a better player. They were winning games and up at the top even before they picked up Gasol. They are also now 10-11 players deep and are able to rotate fresh guys who can make an impact because Kobe has been a solid leader and teacher. On top of that he is really the best player in the NBA and has decent stats.
The Lakers WON the west in a season where Kobe wasn't even supposed to be here and the team was struggling to stay afloat. People were expecting them to maybe be the 12-15th best team in the league. Not 1st (and yes I believe they are better than the Celtics. I guarantee the Celtics have more losses if they played a primarily West schedule like the Lakers)
Predictions: Pistons vs Spurs/Rockets in the finals.
Kobe's finger injury also helped this MVP reputation too. Not a lot of guys would put off surgery and play with injuries and still put up those numbers.
And the reason LeBron has more rebounds is because he's a forward, man. He's just like Lamar Odom, he can double Kobe's rebounds, and still pull about 4 assists.
ps: I just read your post. I also think KG has a better chance than LeBron. KG has better defense.
Okay so by your logic #26 Chris Paul should have NO shot at it simply because he leads assists because he has people on his team who can play the paint - as a guard it's easy. Ask Nash.
You underestimate Lebrons defense but I understand that everyone hates him because, well, he just deals people. Lebron shines brightest when he knows everyone is watching, and that's all I really care about.

I never said he doesn't have offense. He has the offensive strength and ability to make plenty of people look dumb; and he can dunk like a beast. That's why most people like him. Same as Kobe, a few years back he had no defense at all, but still a lot of people liked him due to his level of offensive penetration. He only recently improved his defense dramatically.
I never said it was harder/easier as a guard. I simply said it was easier to pull rebounds as a forward.
ps: we can continue this tomorrow. i'm going to bed =]
KOBE MVP

so...kobe pretty much has mvp locked up.

So I guess if they're going to give it to the best guy on one of the better teams, I hope KG gets it.
