A couple of other people made a post about this idea a little while ago, a DoD 1.3 and a DoD:S LAN at the same time. While it seemed a little pushy saying that the LAN was going to happen then and there I would like to hear what the community thinks about it. I understand there our several 1.3 LAN’s occurring over the summer but I would like to find a date that would suit both communities sometime in the summer. It would more than likely cost around $50-55. Now say 10 DoD:S (Whether it’s a push or not) teams attend and 10 DoD teams attend the LAN. At $50 a piece the DoD:S pool would be at 3000 (Minus paying LAN center, etc..) as well as the DoD’s prize pot. In addition sponsorships will have even more of a reason to provide prizes because of the dual-LAN. Also, if a DoD:S team attends the LAN and has had former DoD’s experience what’s going to keep them from playing DoD also? We could have a lower tournament fee for people playing both games giving competitors even more of a reason to attend. The only problem would be that we couldn’t play both games at once since some teams may be playing in both. Instead we would switch between playing DoD:S and DoD. The LAN center will have around 36 computers in order to run 3 matches at a time so when switching games the wait wouldn’t be to substantial. All of this would help make this LAN a success and could also open the communities’ eyes to each others game. Now the location wouldn’t be set and I will try to get a majority vote on where it should be held, somewhere in central United States in order to keep it fair for all people (Myself living in FL). I would like your opinions on the matter for why this will/wont work please. Thanks.
You're not even going to get a Chicago DoD:S LAN going given most of the Source community could care less about your Paragon team and the kids that its composed of, and 1.3 people hate Source, so don't waste your time.
Why don't you quit worrying about who we were, we're trying to do something positive for the community. And if no one in 1.3 cared about Paragon like you say, I wouldn't have gotten 3 PMs in the past week about a 1.3 team joining under our name.~
On another note, you all laugh at dods, but both games are in CAL (lol), and plus CAL has more teams than 1.3 atm.~
dods and 1.3 will never never never be in the same state together.
you claim you're trying to help our communtiy, were helping ourselves with the dodusopen, and im pretty sure if you add up all the source lan teams, you still wouldnt beat the dod us open team list L@L@L@L@.
battle you seriously need to KILL-YOURSELF and hope you comeback a different person
Possibility of Dual Lan
Good Luck!
1. Source sucks, this is a scientific fact.
2. Paragraphs, I know it hurts but if you're going to try and push an idea for a lan it would be good if you typed above a 4th grade level
thats it.
PANGYA!
2. Sean is bad at DoD:S
3. You're worse than Sean at both.
4. You fail
Good luck!
