So I get home at about 2 am, laze around for a bit until I realize today was mothers day so I'm basically saying to myself "nice one shithead" because I totally spaced out the whole gift buying thing. So after mass deliberation and argument over the IRC network at 4 in the morning, I decide that staying up until 6 in the morning and cooking my mother breakfast in bed would be the least I could do..
Little did I know
It started off well, I assembled various fruit into a smiley face (lol) and my eggs were going well until I tried to get fancy and split them apart. By attempting to do this with just a rubber spatula and not a flipper I basically destroyed one of the eggs but managed to keep the other out of harms way.
The meal is complete, I cut up some orange slices and place those in a decorative manner across the plate, pour a glass of grapefruit juice and before I knew it I was on my way upstairs to surprise my mother with a home cooked surprise. Unfortunately it was 6 in the morning, I really thought she was up and about at this time on Sunday mornings but today wasn't my lucky day. It took me about a good 30 seconds to wake her up then another 45 to explain what I had in front of her at 6:03 in the morning. She smiled and thanked me very much for the breakfast but said it was 6 am and it was to early to eat. Then she asked me If I had even gone to bed which I still haven't so I truthfully admitted no and she smiled and said go to sleep and thank you for the breakfast.
All in all I think I did quite well, my original plan was for flowers and chocolate but A. I forgot to buy both of those and B. Kinda over played. Anyways that's my mothers day adventure, now I really do need some sleep. Have a good day!

Mothers really don't expect you to go all out on buying presents or making breakfast in bed. While the gesture are nice, all they really care is that you say Happy Mother's Day and spend some time with them; something as simple as taking her out to eat is all gravy.

I made my wife big breakfast (after letting her sleep in), kids helped, got her some nice flowers and framed print of our kids at sunset on beach in fla.
Last 2 years I buyed adishwasher, a clothes washer, a clothes dryer and spend a lot of money to buy her clothes but this year I was very busy with my end of school and because I have 2 job.
I worked about 15hours in last 24 hours. After that I came back at home and I started to do all my homework and that make me stand up until 5:00 am.
After that I went sleep but my mother woke up me at 9:00 am and said we have a family lunch I was so F**CKed up, then I woke up and try to find some clothes but since I was too busy last 2 week I forgot to wash my clothes so I had nothing to wear at this family lunch. She was screaming at me that we had to leave and because I Didn't sleep more than 7 hours in 2 days I get mad and I said "Just let me breath damn it"
i got my mom flowers and rented her a cabin in Big Bear,CA. with my dad, she really doesnt get any rest or free time.. hopefully that made it up. Both mother and fathers day
