I'm a Pens fan, but even I'm annoyed by the bandwagoners and Crosby fangirls. My family and I have been going to games since I was little, and I still go with them and friends. It's annoying not to mention I liked when I only paid $20 for b-level seats ;D Oh well *shrugs*
On another note, I'm happy Detroit isn't choking this year. They were one of my fave teams growing up and still are. I used to be obsessed with Fedorov(still am actually^_^) and Yzerman. xD
"Get in the fast lane Grandma, the bingo game's ready to roll!"
detroit is an amazing team in a shiteh city. hockeytown my ass. when don cherry is talking bad about detroit and the overwhelming number of empty seats during the playoffs, something is wrong.
#15 there used to be this thing called an auto industry in Michigan. Michigan has been in a recession since about 2001 and has unemployment rates hovering around 8%+(highest forclosure rate , worst economy, and highest bankrupcy in the nation). People have to pay the bills before attending hockey games. Rising gas/food prices, 15 bucks for parking, and extremely high ticket prices all add up as well.
It also has to do with things just not being the same with names like Yzerman, shannahan, federov, ect not around. The lockout and the new sissy rules didn't help either.
Oddly enough, from a lot of people's point of view, your last statement wasn't taken far enough. Deny it all you'd like but watching some guy make manlove to someone with talent so that he cannot display said talent is at the root of their problems.
I HIT MY CAPS LOCK BUTTON 4 TIMES AND IM STILL IN BIG LETTER MODE
holding and hooking are a detriment to the game, yes, but hockey fans want to see fights and they want to see rough play. Picture football trying to take some of the physical play out. It just doesn't make sense and people don't want to see it.
Of course, but I don't think the 2 are mutually exclusive. The thuggery of just sticking some expendible guy to make unabated manlove to another dude simply to shut em down is what ruins it for me. And I still watch the playoffs if I flip by it, but it'll never peak the same interest it did in the late 90s early 2ks for me in the state it's in.

I still follow hockey and attend games all the time too but I agree hockey isn't as enjoyable now and it will never be the same. I liken the play of hockey to dod. People prone and sit in corners and slow the game down. Why? because it makes up for lack of skill and it's a way to win. In hockey they clutch and grab and trap (the nj devils)
Watching Detroit win 3 cups in 6 years with teams full of all stars and hall of famers and the avs/wings rivalry was the best. The glory years~
pens fans
a picture is worth a thousand words
Lets try this again!
PS; I am an avid flyers fan and will gladly throw down with you sissy-diving penguins fans.
