My computer has recently started running extremely slow. Not so much in general windows, but especially in Steam games. I'm getting 10 fps MAX in my DOD 1.3 now. I don't know what happened, but it mainly seems to be just in Steam games.
I've checked task manager and couldn't find any memory or CPU hogs. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can look to solve this problem.
#4 I have 3 Ghz P4 w/ a gig of ram and a Radeon 9800 with 128 MB of RAM. that is overkill for a game like DOD and all of my Steam games worked fine for years. I don't think it is a lack of hardware.

Mine does that sometimes but once i clean all the fans out and everything it runs smooth

p4 cpu's tend to get very hot.. might be a reason
make an iso of memtest 86+. if not the memory, sounds like overheating or hard drive pooping out.
That's what #2 was for, but I guess no one caught on :/
