need help.

alright, so when i run dod, i get 130 fps constant.. but for some reason when i get onto most places on maps, for example bridge on anzio, my fps drops and it starts moving frame-by-frame..
the weird thing is, when i spectate someone on these places, no problem, but when im playing, fps drops.. while in others its fine..
same thing happens in cs1.6..
but when i run dods/css i have no problems..
vertical sync is off.. and ive attempted other cfgs.. nothing seems to work..

any suggestions?

and arn, no i'm not going to reformat until i'm sure i can't fix it.

EDIT: ohyeah, ive also tried to reinstall the newest vid card drivers.

i would try lowering directx options like 8.0 would be a good gess

You don't need anything higher than 90 fps for dod, it only hurts you. Learned that from k.rust.

ok, so i set it to dx8, it fixed a lot of it, but there seems to still be some places it fcks up.. any other ideas?

.... did you do those?
when i get closer to other people in game my fps drops too. but if im just running by myself through long or something it statys at a constant 90.

i know dx8 is illegal, i was just short handing it :x

where do you check what direct x you have

if we are talking about source -dxlevel 80 is illegal but dod only runs at direct x 7 so im pretty sure its noy illegal for 1.3

maybe you have the same problem as me if you run on window xp during the game alt-tab, ctrl-alt-del look in processor and check the highest one and if your svchost is higher than 80 this is why you have terrible drop in action so just close it
