Over this weekend I was shooting a short film for school. It's a black and white, silent on 16mm film. We were on top of my friends autobody shop roof because its a movie about an assassin. So we had 5 shots left on the roof and we needed to get fake blood.
There were 4 people there: Camera man, stand-in, main actor and me as the director. Me and the actor go to Wallgreens literally 2 minutes down the street. I get a call as we're pulling into Wallgreens that the stand-in fell through the roof. So I rush back to the roof and the camera guy tells us that this peanut brain kid sat on a plastic skylight and fell through. This is two stories high.
The kid magically (unfortunately) wasn't seriously injured. But now since not only is this kid an idiot, but hes a broke idiot. So I have to help pay for this skylight to be fixed which is going to be about $1000.
If the skylight broke from some kid sitting on it, then how would it survive a snow storm? Blame the weak paper thin american buildings! You guys should use some real materials like bricks and metal :/
The weight of snow would be spread out across the entire surface. Not only that, but it's highly unlikely that the weight of snow would eclipse that of a person standing on it. Believe it or not, the engineers probably didn't expect idiots (Hitman and "crew") to be playing Hollywood on the rooftops.
Then again, in your country, "skylights" are made out of bricks.
Well, the kid who fell through the roof is just an acquaintance really. He's in my class and offered to help out and be a stand-in. The owner of the building is my really good friend and he needs to fix the skylight ASAP because it's starting to snow already. I told the kid that fell that hes going to pay for it all and he says he doesn't have enough to cover the whole thing.
thanks for the update. at first i was concerned for your safety when dealing with assassins but after i had read that you were merely filming a movie for school i was immediately relieved. now i am sure i will rest easy knowing that your life is important enough to make a stupid post on gotfrag to keep people that don't know nor like you on their toes waiting for word of your safe returns to the basement.
orph black people paste together to form afroturf.
If he's just an acquaintance I wouldn't give him a dime of my money. He broke it. It's only right for him to fix it, regardless of ability to pay. Have him work out a deal with the dude on a payment plan or something. Either that, or have him pay you back later.
How dumb can you be?
Oh, nevermind.
