I thought the first movie was better overall. This one was entertaining, but over the top with corny jokes and cheesy remarks every 2 minutes. The final battle was a let down, and michael bay dragged this movie on a bit too long. Overall its worth seeing in my opinion, but don't expect to be blown away
Edit: the best part of this movie was the Harry Potter preview
I agree with #1. It had a good plot development, but the last 45 minutes was a complete let down. The final battle was also a lot under most people's expectations. Also think the first movie was a little better than this one.
I'm going to see it eventually but if the fighting sequences are like the last one then I won't be able to tell whats going on except that robots are fighting. Should be nerdgasmic.
Its simple. You shouldn't be looking for a interesting plot line and drama in TRANSFORMERS 2. I came there expecting some absolutely awesome action and robots fighting and its what I got. The forest fighting scene was some of the best graphics I've ever seen.
#12 did you watch the g1 cartoons? they had pretty good plots. michael bay has turned it into humans with transformer sidekicks instead of transformers, which is the problem. it was nice seeing prime not being a complete pus in this one though. the forest fight scene was great and the rest of the movie couldn't keep up after that.
personally think they shouldve ended empire strikes back style with a bad guy winning ending because really where can they possibly go with a 3rd movie now?
definately dont understand the rotten tomatoes 22% rating though. seems like every movie is being judged harsher ever since dark knight came out :\
he never said that btw. paramount announced a release date for TF3 prematurely and Bay said he wouldnt be ready for the date and wanted a break from "battling robots"
PS, im curious to hear what version you all saw? Apparently the iMAX version is a longer cut with more fighting robots. Btw I'm dissapointed to hear that the few of you that saw it think the transformers are still the sidekicks and there are still bad jokes. Bay went on record multiple times saying the sequel would focus more on the robots and have less random comedy. I guess he lied..
#14 It was a cartoon in the 80s and yes I did watch it. The only toy I played with as a child was Transformers. I was completely pumped for this movie. And it didn't disappoint me in the least. I already saw it at midnight and I'm getting ready to go see an afternoon Imax viewing right now.
Also, Im not sure whats with rotten tomatoes ratings lately either. I tend to kind of stay away from the site now days. I get a description and decide whether or not to go just see it for myself.
It was hard not to cringe at some of dialog in this baystrosity of a film, but Megan Fox's enormous talent helped keep it abreast with the caliber of it's predecessor.

I'll keep an eye out for ya, Stingray! Yeah! See-yah!
Um, did any of you guys actually watch the first movie or did you just spend the entire time fawning over Megan Fox and big chunks of metal to not realize how incredibly awful the first Transformers movie was?
For every 1 bad joke in the second one, there were 3 in the original, and they were much, much worse. The plot of the original involved a cube that gives life to machines. There was at least an hour and a half of what can only be described as "Robot Comedy Theater" that dragged on for 80 minutes too long. Oh, and who can forget the absolutely atrocious dialogue that was spewed out by the Transformers themselves, including my favorite, "Sam, put the cube in my chest!"
I swear to God that everyone who liked the first movie and didn't like the second has amnesia. Revenge of the Fallen is a marked improvement over the first movie in every single aspect, and it is what the first one should have been: 2 1/2 hours of robots beating the hell out of each other.
Seriously, how can you possibly say the first one was better?
I wasn't impressed with the first one either, Jeff.
The whole movie is not even centered around the autobots themselves.
But it's what I expected of Michael Bay. Only dumb fan-boys were pleased by either of these movies. That or the regular non-entities who enjoy this crap.
ken that was easily the best scene of the movie. after that it took a huge downward spiral. it was the only legit fight scene where you could figure out who the hell was fighting who and not feel like you were watching a bourne movie with robots.
fighting with "substance". well yea that was the entire point of the scene. the "ill take you all on" line was one of the few moments in the movie where you actually felt like you were watching a transformers movie and not a stereotypical michael bay movie.
maybe you should just stick to movies like notorious~
I was unaware people went to see either of these movies for a mind blowing plot or great dialogue. Anyone else go see both Transformers movies to see crazy fights/explosions and Megan Fox? Anyone that went there expecting more and is complaining that it wasnt more than that is an idiot imo.
Why the fvck does sam have to go around the globe and get a sword of destiny to revive optimus, when the decipticons just got some piece of the allspark to revive megatron? Megan Fox's character had a piece of it too?
And robot heaven are you fvcking kidding me?
ROBOT HEAVEN? A FVCKING HUMAN GOES TO ROBOT HEAVEN?
movie blew, way too long, cut 40 minutes and its as good as the first, first was better.
Raiders>U :| Undisputed Greatest El Salvadorian DoD Player Ever You just been hellblazed.
There were a ton of random 'wtf?' moments and parts of the script that just made the movie terrible aside from watching it purely for some nice graphics and decent action scenes. Then again, I'm with Apollo and feel even the first was disappointing if you cared at all about solid plots or acting in a movie :\
I can't remember, but wasn't one of the decepticons that went down to megatron killed yet still counted as a 6th when megratron and his helping crew went to resurface?
transformers 2
I thought the first half of the movie until the first major fight scene midway through was amazing.
Second half was a let down.
Michael Bay seemed to go back to his terrible close up, quick edit fight scenes in the second half which is obnoxious.
Overall thought it was better than the first by far.
Edit: the best part of this movie was the Harry Potter preview
really bad jokes to boot.
And in this one, Prime isn't a pussy.

sounds like the perfect movie to me

Its a Michael bay film about an 80s cartoon about robots..WHO EXPECTS PLOT!?!

Some parts I just thought were plain silly and the fights scenes I expected to be that way. Only because Michael Bay is a retard.
I still acknowledge the original Transformers movie as the better man compared to the new ones.

It was just fighting with "substance" behind it.

I felt as if I watched the movie only to see one fight scene - and that was it.
no wonder i didn't see either of them
