Ingredients aren't hard to get for beer #2, and they're probably not very expensive either. My dad makes his own wine, and that comes out pretty good, I'm sure beer would be doable.
we'll im more of a stout beer fan, so thats what i am aiming at creating. i found a bunch of books about it. gonna start out with a kit, but im gonna research up and see if i can make a decent wort.
But we have a local brewery around here, so we just buy our materials there and brew our own. Personally I think it tastes better since well... I made it. Obviously it probably doesn't, but it is cool to have a few friends over and offer them your own beer rather than a Bud Light.
Can we keep the suggestions in this thread to the 21+ crowd only please. We all know home brewed beer will never taste as good as that natty ice you guys drank at your boys sleep over.
beer is 11,000 years old the technology used in mass production is not 11,000 years old samuel adams started as a home brewery mass production is not sexy that kid is retarded
coopers is a good starter kit
watch the modern marvels on beer and for extra credit distilleries
heavier beers are actually easier to make because you can mess up a little and noone will notice (I LEARNED THAT FROM MODERN MARVELS)
My roommate brews beer for our house, the first couple batches of cheap 20 dollar kits were awesome but then the next few weren't too hot. Just make sure your equipment is clean every time. First thing we did was buy a second carboy. Totally worth it if you have the time to make it.
My roommate's first batches and his last ones were potent and tasted better than most commercial American beers. Not to mention the amount of beer you get for what you pay is pretty ridiculous. Also Michelobs is terrible. It's like you make an effort to show you have no fucking clue what yu're talking about.
It dont matter if you have gamer arms or not, its the fact that you have a pair of balls.
That will start you with a solid stout. Williams kits are awesome- the plastic buckets are fairly opaque so you dont have much light spoilage problems, and your direct tubing transfer keeps the wort from becoming too bubbleh.
save your time and money. buy beer in bottles and drink it. if you are feeling up for something new go to your local beer distributor and start going through all the IPA's they have listed.
The legal age here is 18, I don't have to be 21 to know about beer. Who waits till they're 21 before they start trying all sorts of beers, even if it is the legal age?
beers such as Fat Tire (amazing..great beer), 1554 (good), and Mighty Arrow (never tried) and several others all came from home brewing kits....they got their company bought and are making SHIT tons of money off of it.
other beers of note: Newcastle, Sierra Nevada, Becks, and of course Budweiser (HEAVY not FUCKING bud lite). there are so many more amazing beers that i cant name off the top of my head at the moment but on my list of SHIT beer:
i nuked emjoi due to gross idiocy. and i've yet to see anyone mention any remotely decent CRAFT beers in this thread, mainly because no one in this thread has a clue as to what they're talking about~
bad beers: everything you've listed
good beers: great lakes brewery, furthermore, lagunitas, rogue brewing, anchor brewery, redhook, big sky, bells, three floyd's...i could go on and on
*really, when you list sierra nevada, blue moon, newcastle, budweiser, sam adams and fat tire as good it really tells how little you know~
can you nuke yourself for only pointing out that noone knows what they're talking about all while not giving any additional information? it looks helpful but isn't.
Yeah #47... no one knows what they are talking about, especially you. I'm pretty sure the thread wasn't " look at how many beers I know of" but rather about home brewing. Snobby idiots like you ruin beer. Beer is subjective, just like wine. Some people like Miller Light, some people like leinenkugel fireside brown ( which tastes like pancakes : /).
home brewing
edit: i'm not surprised you remember every single story about me... with every detail.

and

are two great suppliers for home brewing kits. I started with a Mr. Beer pale ale kit and it tasted like flowery budweiser.

I'll ask him tomorrow where he got all his stuff.
