the steroids card is pretty damn valid and as far as money the yankees simply outbid every other team so they can win their precious world series, unfortunately it ruins competition in baseball for the fans.
and steinbrenner is not the richest owner by far, he dumps his money into the yankees because its his life, unlike some of these other owners who pocket the revenue and stay cheap with their team
2003 florida marlins were such a ridiculous team, and then the next year everyone gets sold away and the owner picks up a bunch of cheap players and farm players, and they turn into one of the worst teams in the league
you cant blame steinbrenner when he runs the team like its a dynasty, spending and keeping players for 10+ years. he cares about his team way more than other owners who are even wealthier than him, and it pays off
pretty sure the guy who made this thread is a tigers fan.. enough said. my 2 cents - good series could of gone either way. a couple of errors and inconsistent bullpen is what it comes down to. cliff lee proved he is a top 5 picture in the MLB. i expect Hamels to get his head on straight and be back to his old self. the phillies return in 2010 with the roster intact minus stairs, feliz, myers, chan ho park, and scott eyre possibly. everyone else is a lock. i don't see why they can't make it back to the world series next year. i wouldn't say the yankees are better because the offenses are identical & both bullpens aren't great the only thing the yankees have on the phillies in the pen is Mo (the best ever) i hope the phillies can add another good starter (wishing for Lackey) but he will probably cost too much. wouldn't suprise me if we see the same matchup next year.
Dear Jesus
Hope you're ready to take this back.
they were the best team of the decade by far... again

i think this needs to be investigated further
