i don't even think anyone in detroit could afford to have the internet let alone a lan center for dorks to stroll into and share stories of online heartbreak and the tattoos they got to cope.
QUOTE:How about you have it somewhere where people can actually do something aside from playing video games... like Vegas?
I agree. Las Vegas would be fun, Austin is not a bad city either (6th street, bars, awesome music scene). Was just thinking Texas would be a bit more central for everyone
gotta go for a LAN center that is close to a lot of people rather than making it central as people on coasts aren't always willing to fly out. Central could work, but there is a reason socal lans happen the most frequently in dod history, because there are a lot of locals and it's no hassle to attend.

Really? Because Kentucky lan had more teams attending, with more well known players, with less pugs. SoCal was pugs and some girls team (that took the gold). Kentucky lan ran smoother and had a way better outcome, but you're right, Socal was great.
I know of 8 people that would go to a KY lan that cant fly to Cali. Whoever was gonna get on that in that last KY lan thread that was posted up should continue to work that out and if that falls through maybe I will talk to ignite lan center in chicago (where the last chicago lan was supposed to happen that totally fell through) and see whats up with them if people are down.
VEGAS! Flights are usually cheaper in vegas plus there are more options for hotels. I think the overall cost for a west coast to fly to ky is the same as someone from new york to fly to vegas. Besides vegas is way better.
Vegas +Cheap flights -"Not much to do for those under 21"
KY +More centralized +"So much to do compared to Vegas"
In both scenarios, most kids will end up just drinking, etc. in their hotel room. I put the last two reasons in quotes because those two arguments are dumb. Some go with the sole purpose of winning a LAN championship (ie. KY) while others want to just chill (ie. SD and Vegas) or both.
Think about those two reasons Omar just posted. People going to a LAN for the sole purpose of winning a LAN championship of a dead game that many teams can't even get 6 for matches or having fun with friends you've come to know over the years.
bluerevolver lives in Vegas and I remember him mentioning some new LAN centers or something (as if people are going to show up for LAN matches in Vegas... tee hee).

They could find a truck stop. Sure they might not have fun, but they'll make themselves a pretty penny.
NERD.

Northern California.
No more lans thanks

out of every socal there has been... ky lan had a better turnout than any of those.
