Day Of Defeat: The Creation of an International DoD Committee

Read on to see an introduction by Brandon "Bewton" Newton and Jeroen "4nkor" David Richard to the creation of a pioneer movement in the Day of Defeat community: the new International DoD Committee.

Introducing:

The International DoD Committee

It was just a few months ago that Bewton and I started working together in order to awaken the Day of Defeat communities. Our goal: to get Day of Defeat back to the CPL for the summer 2006 event. On a night somewhere early in January I started to realize that we could do a whole lot more for the community, so Bewton and I started to look into the possibility of having some sort of organisation. What would the exact purpose of the organisation be? What should the structure within the organisation be like? How would we call it?
We believe to have found a way to stand up for the entire Day of Defeat community.
We grounded the International DoD Committee. This organisation will be representing and handling issues for 4 Day of Defeat communities.
• Europe
• Northern America
• Southern America
• Australia / New Zealand

There will be well known and experienced representatives in charge of every community.
These will be announced as soon as possible.

But what matters most will be the purpose of the organisation. Our main focus will be on:
• Event organisations in order to have more Day of Defeat competitions hosted at LAN events.
• Having more online cups and leagues in cooperation with organisations such as CAL, Clanbase and several others.

How will you know what the organisation is working on?
We hooked up with all community websites, where you will be informed regularly.

We are happy to have Day of Defeat at the CPL for the summer event, however we hope this will only be the beginning. We believe that Day of Defeat can become a bigger game in eSports.

Of course we would like to ask for your support. If you have any ideas, do not hesitate to contact us. We are currently working on a website, where people from all communities will be able to contact us about any subject concerning Day of Defeat.
