Day Of Defeat: dicE becomes Jax Money Crew

Todo sits down with royAMAZING and DyeLife of Jax Money Crew's DoD team and asks them a few questions on their thoughts of the future of DoD.

The last few months have certainly been very eventful for Day of Defeat and its community; the competitive online atmosphere has taken giant steps forward with announced opportunities in both Cyber Evolution and the Global Gaming League, and LAN events such as New York's w2z tournament and the recent Intel Summer Championship. One of the most vital aspects of this growth, however, has been the gradual increase in interest and opportunities from larger organizations, and the most recent advancement of this scope is today's partnership between the Day of Defeat team dicE, and Jax Money Crew.

The new JMC Day of Defeat team has become one of the most stable and consistently successful teams that the community has ever seen. The team has been some of the best competition that CAL-Invite has seen in the past five seasons, each of which has featured dominant performances to consistently bring dicE to the playoffs. In a significant display of dicE's progress, this past season of Invite was arguably dicE's most impressive, and they established themselves as one of the best teams in Day of Defeat before a loss to CompLexity in the quarterfinals.

What has truly set dicE apart, however, has been their adept play at the many LAN tournaments that they attend. The team is perhaps the most active LAN team in the community, and it shows. In April of 2006, dicE attended the fifth SoCal LAN and placed first after a convincing win over CompLexity. In June, the team traveled to Seattle, Washington, where they placed first at the Northwest LAN by beating this past Invite season's runner-ups, ENErvate. Most recently, they attended the Intel Summer Championships and made it all the way to the Upper Bracket Finals before being eliminated; dicE would be the only team to beat the eventual winners, CompLexity, in the entire tournament.

GotFrag contacted Alex "JaX" Conroy of JMC for a statement, as well as Roy "royAMAZING" Park and Matt "DyeL!fe" Vazzana for some questions.
"Today marks another step in the expansion and evolution of the JMC organization as we add a top Day Of Defeat team to the crew. The team is none other then the famed Team Dice whose most recent achievement was a 3rd place finish at the WSVG summer championship, where they made it all the way to the upper bracket finals and were the only team to beat eventual champions, Complexity. DOD has a loyal and growing community, which is the initial reason we began to look at the game. After researching the community in depth, we felt Dice had both the competitive attitude and skill that our fans have come to expect from the JMC organization. As an organization we feel it’s necessary to constantly evolve by expanding into new genres and gametypes, while maintaining a high level of excellence throughout all our divisions. It is with great pleasure that I welcome Matt "DyeL!fe" Vazzana (Captain), Adam "maingoes" Williams, Roy "royAMAZING" Park ; Anthony "Jdub" Carpio, Derek "shotgunderek" Rycewicz, and Bill "shotgunbill" Kobbervig to the crew. I hope that under the JMC name the guys can reach new heights in their careers and achieve championship success. Please welcome them with open arms!"
