After a long and unfortunate hiatus from their popular prediction articles, ThatsRight and X-Spider from teams Substandard and Not Impressed respectively, join me in what I hope will be a weekly occurance and contribution. Both individuals competed all season long in Theta and have gain a very good amount of knowledge about their opponents and fellow gamers in the division. Therefore, I was very fortunate for them to provide me with what I believe are some excellant predictions and potential upsets. Lets take a look...

Upper Bracket:

[#17] oldsKool vs [#13] PaNdAdoGz

ThatsRight:

A team of all invite talent continues it’s march thru cal o playoffs. Half of their starters Crog, Tr4gic, and Aether hail from the resent cpl runner ups in rsports, with the other half being Dane, Scat, and oxossi. Old school has been on a nice roll as of late winning 4 games in a row, but their last loss was to… Pandadogs. Chemille is a unique map in that there’s no middle and both sides of the map must be on the same page for a cap out. Knowing when to hold and simultaneously push are key. This is where I believe panda dogs experience will shine thru. Osk’s Euros in zug, turtz, and action won’t be enough to carry them thru to the next round. Prediction - PaNdAdoGz over oldsKool 278-45

X-Spider:

Both of these teams had were able to breeze their way through the third round of the playoffs. The battle at the underpass will easily be led by pDogz’s cROG and tr4gik. At the factory, I expect osK’s Commando and scat battling for the factory. In the end, the PaNdAdoGz’s rifles will provide the better coverage at the factory. Dan Schey’s absence will inspire this team to edge out oldsKool. Expect dane to top frag with the rifle, along with tr4gik top-fragging for the autos. Prediction - PaNdAdoGz over oldsKool 246 - 212

[#3] Iron Hymen vs [#2] revamped

MOTW material for theta this week. Revamped packs an experienced lineup of m+ quality players with their only loss this season coming by forfeit. Iron Hymen has a solid roster of their own and is no push over. Their will be a hell of a battle at factory on the snipers between stealth and phnx. Chemille almost always comes down who can hold 3 flags which requites you to control underpass/factory on their hard half. I’m assuming eman and stalinfrag will be heaving underpass and that if they are aloud to get into water room watch out. I wouldn’t expect many caps between two smart teams who know how to play on a map like chemille. Slow intense close play, typical for playoff chemille. Revamped moves on. Prediction - revamped over Iron Hymen 87-65

X-Spider:

This semifinal match in the upper bracket will be just as interesting as the other semifinal match. IH’s stealth_ will be a beast at the factory battling out with revamped’s phnx. Rebirth and scrd will provide excellent support to phnx, but St|ck will not let his longtime teammate go down that easily. Stalinfrag and e`man will be very aggressive at the underpass, making life for IH’s heavies frustrating. If revamped takes over this match, we can expect to see some MG action from stalin and/or phnx. Let’s keep this interesting guys! St|ck and reid and rebirth to top frag as rifles, and stalin will top frag in the autos category. Prediction - revamped over Iron Hymen 327-251

Lower Bracket:

[#16] sYncLine vs [#7] Haxors elite

So I hitman and hxc made up? Anyways, um I thought h3 was aliased or something but I guess not, upset goes to the lower seed in this one I suppose. Winner plays g4n. Prediction - sYncLine over Haxors Elite 235-50

X-Spider:

This match is easily the MOTW for the lower bracket. The sniper battle will easily be won by AllGunsBlazing assuming riot is the sniper. To make up for this disadvantage, sYncline’s demeter and hitman47 will bring out the counter attack at the factory. Expect them to be pushing constantly while Milo provides the backup. H3’s Grmplse will provide excellent assistance to AllGunsBlazing to prevent frequenct pushes by sYncline. Expect utility hXc to be alternating between factory and underpass to provide help as needed. sYncline should have the underpass on lockdown for the most part, all thanks to InFiL who will lead the autos in top frags. Grmplse will lead the rifles in frags for this match. Prediction - sYncLine over Haxors elite 164 - 129

[#11] Random vs [#14] Total Annihilation

TA will get their second loss and their season will be over. Zoltan and Bobson will have factory on lockdown but Styx from TA may put up a fight. Snuggz will be at underpass but I think handicaps heavies will keep him in check. On such a classic map that rewards teamwork, communication, and overall fragging power, handicap will have this easily. They move on to play lama patrol Prediction - Random over Total Annihilation 235-56

X-Spider:

Everyone must be asking “How in the world is Total Annihilation still in the playoffs?” Well, some credit must be given to TA’s styxx for carrying his team fairly deep into the playoffs. Mensen is a gift of God and will provide good assistance to TA’s rifles at the factory. Of course, this will not be enough to stop handicap’s dilliard and zoltan at the factory. Bobson will be all over the place causing havoc, but will not need to visit the underpass much because trainman and raider will easily have the underpass under their control. Expect trainman to lead the autos in kills, and bobson will just as easily lead the rifles. Prediction - Random over Total Annihilation 636-80

[#10] supremacy vs [#1] NihilisM

The match between supremacy and aimless was overturned due to mudmen cheating, big surprise there! Pantera is a cool guy and a pretty good player which is why I can’t believe he joined Supremacy. They have lost 4 times since making a thread saying theta was no competition for them. Nihalist is going to smack them down hard on rr2. I would expect epoxy and marshmello_peep to have middle under control with pantera and Thrasher trying to get it back. Scream should have apartments most of the match but who knows he is playing the self proclaimed best heavy in the game. Prediction - NihilisM over supremacy 356-47

X-Spider:

This is a special time for Argentina. They recently won the South American Cup in soccer, and now they want to take CAL-Theta in North America. These players will only provide frustration to those who believe in NihilisM. Fortunately, NihilisM’s epoxy and ScreaM will bring carnage at the underpass. Flame and teamowner will be dominating the factory while peep is busy providing cover with the scoped rifle. Zazi will provide help at the underpass as needed, but will most likely try to ninja against Argentina’s aimless. I would only expect lucas to stand out for aimless. Flame will top frag in the rifles division while ScreaM will dominate the match overall. Prediction - NihilisM over aimless 417-284

[#27] Special Air Services vs [#12] Not Impressed

They are playing their match today to catch back up with the bracket, winner will play us on rr2. Sas is one team I respect a lot. They aren’t the best team in the world but they have always been kind and seem like they are in it for the fun. Great group of people. I think not impressed is going to win this match pretty handily and move onto the next round. Stark and deg are a solid group of heavies who for the most part play a fast and skilled game. X-spider will be on the scope at accompanied by storm and tehone on the rifles. I would expect the sas roster to most likely be blu3, Saratoga, Druna, ect. Prediction - Not Impressed over SAS 350-34

X-Spider:

GLHF! This match is bound to be on Monday, since sAs has not replied to NI, and NI has most of their team out of town for the weekend. Substandard awaits the winner of this match.
