Sweet, Hotwings & Beer’s Joel Williams, irawr’s Joel Edmunds, and AYEBAYBAY’s Mike “meekrab” Petterson tackle week one of CAL-Main on Railroad 2. Joel E.: If this were last season this match would be a total blowout, but with Monster's roster changes and Pantera getting suspended I can see it being close. I don't really know anyone on Substandard, but I do know they like making You Tube DoD videos, so I could see that counteracting the fact that they've apparently been playing together since some "CPL years". I hear this Ender guy is really good, so it should be an interesting rifle battle with him facing Zonozaur and the other fallen. rNg will run around shooting heads off and Substandard might find themselves rocking the stats page again, but due to growing pains I'm going to say Monster wins this by less than a cap. Players to watch: rNg and Zonozaur Joel W.: If Fallen can manage to stay connected to the server for any discernable length of time, he and Pantera should have long/mid/4way/underpass on lockdown. Goats and TR play EXTREMELY gay in upper apps, though since rNg cheats I'm sure that won't be a problem. Pujay vs. Ponzi should be interesting, considering I've never heard of Ponzi before. Oh, and railcar features Zono and Loser, so I don't really care what happens (maybe they both die in a car fire DURING the match?). Sub < moN by 5 care mobiles (that's 5 caps for you viewers at home) Mike.: A match up that could go either way? Unbelievable. Look for monster's rifles to control middle most of the time, but if rNg and my recently returned e-lover w0k can't hold the apartments, they could get shot in the back while trying to capture fountain quite a bit. This match will probably come down to which Zonozaur shows up, the best rifle in dod or some guy that can barely move a mouse and breath at the same time? Monster > substandard 85-75 Irawrgamers vs. Sweet, Hotwings & Beer Joel E.: irawr GLHF sw33t Sorry my predictions suck. There's just so many cats. Players to watch: Good sportsmanship and fair play. Joel W.: Joel, all I can say is you better be nice to my team, and you better play as well as you did in that 12man or you're getting disputed. ;) irawr GLHF sw33t Mike.: Do either of these teams practice or care? I'd be inclined to think not, but I saw Gary b 12manning late Sunday night, so who knows for sure? Both rosters are full of skilled players (except for jbrown, kid is bad), so whoever practices more and plays like it's a match and not a pregame for Thirsty Thursday should win. Flip a coin; it'll be more accurate. GI vs. ReMiX Joel E.: This won't be close; Tony Compton is going to conquer the world on axis half from his balcony perch, until poizoned shoots him in the head through 4 buildings. GI outplays remix in every category, although I can see Milo putting up a fight in apartments, and I could definitely see him breaking out some streaks on allies if given enough chocolate milk. Russ is sniping, he'll kill stuff. GI wins. General Infantry > ReMiX (180 – 12) Players to watch: poizoned, Tony, and Russ Joel W.: In all honesty, GI dominates each of these positions (on paper). We all know, however, that since ReMiX has some of the most online players ever (Mark, Poizoned, I'm looking at you) along with probably the youngest kid to ever try his heart out in a 12man (Milo), this will for some unforeseeable reason be entirely too close. GI > ReMiX by 7+ Chris Hansen interviews Mike.: GI is highly annoying to play against when they decide a game matters, and remix has Milo on their roster. Poizoned isn't known for producing big numbers in situations where POV demos are required, and rampage is bad enough to think I cheat in scrims. Plus sp0rk's notes make it look like GI has actually thought out a strategy. GI > ReMiX 225 – 20 |
