Jim “till” Decker, Nick “trickstuf” Jansen, and Robert “spork” Hull discuss week 6 of Cal Main on dod_Harrington. Substandard vs. FunBox Gaming
Nick: Don’t get me wrong, I’m not racist. I just don’t like beaners. Regardless, this match should be lots of fun for substandard, who are going to have to control half a dozen skipping jumping (most likely cheating) monkeys in order to control any part of the map. The prospect of playing South Americans will probably destroy any of the relatively little motivation substandard has to play this game, and honestly, who can blame them. FunBox is coming off a huge loss to dth on donner, which was to be expected, dth could probably beat Jesus himself on donner. I would imagine both teams have little motivation coming into this match with substandard facing the prospect of lagging cheating beaners, and FunBox coming off a huge loss to a mediocre team. Look for scora and ender to dominate the rifles of FunBox, while the rest of the map is basically a free for all.
Substandard > FunBox by 50
Players to watch: ender, scora, whoever is cheating/interping at any given time on FunBox.
Jim: FunBox and substandard, should be interesting. Substandard’s amazing garands versus lagging kar shots will be the most exciting part of the match to watch. The sniper battle should be controlled by pujay and the heavying will be controlled by ThatsRight, all around I think substandard will squeak by.
Substandard > FunBox 50- Robert: Both of these teams are sitting on 2-3 records, and whoever wins this match has a shot at making playoffs if their momentum keeps them going. A word of wisdom to substandard: FunBox uses their lag to prefire almost every corner, so chances are your heavies’ epic prone skills are going to be tested in this battle, and their sniper is going to sit in upper connector probably for all of allies half. Long shouldn’t be a problem with scora going thataway, and Substandard should see themselves with a satisfying 3-3 record and a shot at postseason after match night
Substandard > FunBox 80-
HoAx.gaming vs. pumpfake
Nick: Well rob is useless and didn’t include pumpfake’s starting lineup in his list, but I guess it doesn’t really matter since I don’t know who any of them are anyway. I don’t really know what hoax’s problem is, on paper they look like a decent team that does practice quite a bit, so you wouldn’t think they would be on par with chicagolegend’s lan record. With Blaine leaving for the greener pastures or sw33t, hoax is without their best player, and if they were bad before they are worse now. I have never played pumpfake, nor do I know anyone on their roster, nor what their starting six is. Ergo, no comment. Hoax wants a win bad, look for them to scrim hard, and Dullumis to carry his team to their first victory.
Hoax > pumpfake by 50
Players to watch: Dullumis
Jim: Here are my old friends at hoax going against pumpfake. Both of these teams have yet to get a win in main. The battle at mid will be the most interesting part of the match to watch, while reflex and Dullumis will dominate America and skurvy on long. In the end this match will be decided by the heavy battle, if Infil and vapes can hold down and beat truke and mob then expect hoax to come away with a win.
Hoax>Pumpfake 50- Robert: A few great former teammates of mine compile the roster of hoAx, but they just haven’t been able to get it done this season. Is reflex not cheating anymore??? Anyway, truke is a beast heavy in scrims when I’ve rang alongside him, and m0b will hopefully run the acs so this match doesn’t get overturned, and my boys over at hoAx will keep their flawless record <3.
Pumpfake > HoAx 60+
NihilisT vs. Flatout Nick: The last time I played nihilist on Harrington they were playing with 4 and still beat us, and that was without scream. We may be awful, or they may be amazing, who knows. Nihilist is definitely one of the better teams in main, while Flatout has been surprising people. They just recently destroyed penos, and don’t forget they upset the mighty gi in preseason. They must be good… right? Nihilist on the other hand lost to the surprisingly good osK by 1 point, and must be livid. I bet scream is losing sleep over the thought of shitting all over kids at mountain, and he will do just that. Lowcarb cares so much he’ll probably start no less than 100 threads on GF after the match, and dekin will undoubtedly post ss’s in a vain attempt to prove he’s not awful. The only part of Flatout that keeps them even remotely heterosexual is Dennis Delbando, who will single handedly control all three routes, while watching Lost and getting head, at the same time. True story folks.
Nihilist > Flatout 30 points
Players to watch: stick, scream
Robert: This is really riding on how much either sniper takes advantage of a heavily favored allies side and whether or not scream “likes” this map. Regardless, this should be a relatively good match, I’ve never seen this stick fellow play but he’s apparently the best thing since sliced bread, so I’ll have to take other player’s words for it. I think the match goes to Flatout.
NihilisT < Flatout by 30-80
Did that Hurt? vs. Penos Gaming
Nick: From what I understand penos has recently had some roster issues, and it has sadly caused them to lose the prospect of going 19-0. Way to be overrated guys. I actually think this will be a pretty solid match up that will come down to whether or not Sexualmayo has his period on Thursday. If Polak and him have their game face on, it will be a tough match for my boys over at dth. Luckily, Ryan is really good at this game (LoL) and will pick up the slack by proning everywhere with whatever recoilless weapon he chooses. If bewton plays, penos will win, but not by much. If I was gonna watch this match (LoL again!) I would pay attention to the rifle battle between danny/hayyez and polak/gayo. All 4 of these players will probably put up some numbers, but I’m going to put my money on nigga Neil and Mr. strong to carry platypus to victory!
Dth > penos 20 points
Players to watch: Polak, Danny, Wehman, bewton, hayyez
Jim: Penos was dealt it's first loss of the season last week by Flatout, and will be looking to regain the top spot in main with a win this week against dth. All around dth has a much weaker roster than Penos, but then again, so does Flatout, so who knows what could happen. Sexualmayo will dominate long and bewton will prove his worth in middle, and I think penos will come away with the win.
Penos > dth 100+
Robert: Caff is borderline one of the best snipers in main, only problem is, so is zoltan. mid should present a fierce battle, but I think long will go to the penos rifle team, which looks like something out of invite. Mountain half for either team depends on if they run a kar through to ladder, which would probably be the deciding factor, especially if it’s that idiot Polak :D. Penos looks to improve their record for a top seed in the division
Penos > dth 60+
Twisted Dimensions vs. Sweet, Hotwings & Beer Nick: I rang for sweet once and I top fragged, so based on that they are pretty bad. Never the less, this match will probably be pretty lopsided. On the one hand you have TD, who I have never heard of and I would imagine belong in open. On the other, you have sweet, who despite some roster and activity issues are arguably one of the better teams in main on paper. Bean bean egg will be flawless, and control whatever part of the map he pleases at any given time. Mountain will be held by sweet for all 40 minutes, as Stalin will prone tunnel like a champ and whacked will carry him, dropping no less than 80 kills per half, while DoD legend Jbrown will ignore whatever rust he may have and trample all those in his way. Assuming sweet scrims even once this will be the blowout of the week.
Sw33t > TD 200
Players to watch: Reid, whacked, whoever decides to over compensate and cheat on TD.
Jim: This is going to be a tough match for TD. The mid battle will be heavily in Sweets favor with Ponzi sniping against dogbone. The long battle will involve Scott fleener and darkphantom going head to head, and will be the deciding factor in the match. TD's heavies will have their work cut out for them as they go against b and someone else. Sweet will hold mid most of the match, and unless darkphantom and co. can really come to play, the match will go to sweet by a large margin.
Sweet> TD 100+
Robert: my first ever main team faces off against td who I’m quite surprised is 1-1. I figured they would have lost to supremacy, which makes me wonder how bad the rest of supremacy is if m0b, truke, and eon can’t carry them. Sweet should win with two of the best heavies in main when they have 6 (lol) in stalin and jwhacked. Stalin will also probably run around other parts of the map for fun, and probably drop close to 50 with a bar. Ponzi will de_story mid sniping, and reid will kill whoever is rifling long. If he doesn’t, expect him to get VERY ANGRY.
Sweet > TD by two caps+
ReMiX vs. Good 4 Nothing Nick: MOTW. Huge roster changes for both teams, with remix adding s0v, Mogers and seven, and g4n adding odium, Dyelife and Jericho. With such epic roster changes neither team is going to have very much chemistry or teamwork, but with this kind of skill involved it doesn’t really matter. I’m pretty sure one of the Ten Commandments is to NEVER predict against any team with Dyelife on it, and I sure as hell ain’t willing to get smitten over dod preds.
G4n > remix 4000
Players to watch: Jesus
Robert: Really interesting rosters for both teams, but I think the teamwork just won’t be there for remix like it will be for g4n. Oh that, and Matt vananza doesn’t 90 ANYBODY. Look for Mogers to kill both heavies of g4n only to have mark killed from behind and not call it making Matt’s effort only in vain. And till will probably kill rampage. A lot.
G4n > remix by a cap+
Happy Lizard Gaming vs. oldsKool
Nick: I think this will turn out to be a better game than most people think. OsK is pretty much carried by its rifles, so I would imagine that mountain will probably be controlled by wok, who will have to run it by himself since advent will probably slit his wrists in an emo rage during pregame. I mean in all honesty you would think that HLG would have this in the bag considering that advent’s nose basically counts as a 7th player, but even a one man advantage won’t stop osK. While zono and lockdown are competent rifles, I don’t see them having much luck against una and turtz, who are arguably the best players to ever live. OsK is going to finals, and HLG ain’t gonna stop this train.
OsK > HLG 150
Players to watch: osK rifles, wok
Jim: This match up is definitely my pick for MOTW. We will have Shane thrasher going mid against commando in what will be an absolutely EPIC sniper battle. On long will be chicagolegend and a cheating Euro~, against Zonozaur and lockdown, while this may seem a one sided match up on long in favor of osK, don’t sell zono and lockdown short, they will put up a fight and it could go either way. The heavy battle will be wok and advent for lizard against any combination of cheating euros or Canadians~, and I think they will prove themselves up for the challenge. OsK should have this one in the end, but not by much.
Lizard < osK 50- |
