Kyle “lockdown” Brosnan and Robert “spork” Hull wrap up the regular season of Cal Main S18 on dod_railroad. Banner created by Royemo. Did that Hurt? vs. oldsKool
Kyle: A close match up here, and on railroad should be filled with a boatload of super cool frags! On the snipers we will have Caff for dth going up against commando of osK. This will be a very good match up, but I’m going to give the edge to Caff here. For osK, it will be Turtz and Una on the kars with Stu on 3rd going up against Sharp and Danny strong of dth on kars with the one and only Ryan “Platypus” Hodgson on 3rd. If turtz plays, the battle between him and Sharp will be an exciting one. I’m going to give the rifle edge to osK only is turtz plays. In apartments we will have Rastaman and Cigar of dth going against Chicagolegend and Zuq for osK. JP is a solid heavy and should hold down apartments for the majority of the match. I see this one being a close one with dth winning by a very narrow margin. Dth by 15- Players to Watch: Turtz, Stu, Caff, Rastaman Robert: I’d give this main motw. Two very solid teams with good teamwork, the key here for osK is to get Rastaman to rage about how they are playing with the six best players in Day of Destruction. But they probably aren’t because cigar can manhandle rr1 as I’ve personally experienced playing with him, so apts should be well under dth control both halves, and Daniel strong playing 4 way/mid with Caff stairs/loft should keep turtz and commando at bay. Long pits sh4rp against una, which sh4rp should be able to have relatively well. All that needs to happen is my boy Ry Ry Hodgson stossboss train and dth should have this map wrapped up due to the fact that the colors look a lot like donner.
Dth > osK by 30-50
Players to watch: cigar, dstrong, Caff, turtz, commando
Twisted Dimensions vs. hoAx.gaming Kyle: Two teams playing for pride here. tD got moved up mid season and it has been a season to forget for hoax. On the snipers we will see kevo of hoax going up against dogbone of tD. Seeing as I have at least heard of kevo, I will give him the edge. The rifles will have Dullumis and reflex on kars with Blaine on third going up against darkphantom, rat and meds from tD. Dullumis vs. darkphantom should be a good match up to watch in middle. Apts will have wankeh and get off my lawn of tD going up against Infil and vapes of hoax. tD takes this with darkphantom leading the way. tD by 50 Players to watch: Darkphantom, Dullumis Robert: Well I just noticed that cutie pie Sean “Sacred” Burdick is rostered for hoAx, and his fonzness might just help him run everywhere yelling “eyyyyyyyyy” and no scoping for serious frags against tD. And apparently my roster list is completely wrong because it doesn’t match anything of what I have down here, so I’ll have to talk to those guys later. Any who, tD has the likes of busphantom, hutch, meds, and tmw of the names I recognize, so the rifles of phantom and hutch should keep hoAx at bay, finishing the season at 1-7, while tD goes just over .500
TD > hoAx by 70-90
Players to watch: Sacred, darkphantom, hutch
Sweet, Hotwings & Beer vs. NihilisT Kyle: Another good match up this week. Sweet has encountered some roster issues this season, and nihilist has had the same roster for going on ten years now. On the snipers we have ponzi for sweet going up against PibiaN for nihilist. Ponzi should win out this battle. On the rifles we will have Reid and Jbrown on the kars with Royemo on third going up against teamowner, flame and bawno of nihilist. The rifle battle of Reid and Jbrown against teamowner and flame should be exciting. Reid and Jbrown are fragging machines and should have the edge there. Apartments will have Scott Fleener and whacked of Sweet going up against Scream and ep0xy of Nihilist. Scream is clearly the best player to ever grace this game, but fleener and whacked are also good players. Apartments will be interesting to watch. If Sweet can hold of Scream in apartments, they should take this. Sweet by 30+ Players to watch: Reid, Jbrown, scream, teamowner Robert: Ok so I’m pretty gay for most of sweet since a) I used to play with those kiddies and b) they cut the infinitely terrible Joel “justice” Williams. However, they’re going up against NihilisT on a map where heavies matter more than normal, so ScreaM’s ep1c bar/unter might prove frustrating to the hotwing drinking beer-eating members of sweet, but I think they will have a savior in ponzi sniping and Royemo running train. Roye has confided in me that his graphic drivers were recently reinstalled apparently correctly placing his crosshair on his screen so he’s been fragging kids with the garand like there’s no tomorrow. And although that probably means he’s cheating so I shouldn’t have EVER made a lan team with him, bawno frustrates the piss outta people strafe tommying wherever he goes. And ep0xy proning in those ever so nifty dark spots in apts and inside the axis 2nd ruins will frustrate even more, so this should be a close one depending on how much raging is happening in the eman vent.
Sweet >< NihilisT within 20
Players to watch: ScreaM, ponzi, Royemo(or his crosshair)
ReMiX vs. Supremacy Kyle:From what I hear, Remix is dead, so FF win for Supremacy. Robert: I’m going to ditto what Kyle said.
Penos Gaming vs. Total Annihilation Kyle: BIG mismatch here. Penos boasts a roster full of talent that will just roll over TA. Penos by 200+ Players to watch: All of Penos Robert: Penos is going for some big points and big frags here due to that silly CAL auto scheduler. Polak and bewton are gonna be dropping big numbers at rifle while Aaron Poirier pick up the bar/stg for some apt fun. That being said, Mensen will probably surprise them for the first half because they’ll think of this as a playoffs warm up, and then Penos will crack down second.
Penos > TA by 150+
Player to watch: Bewton, Mensen’s first half, Polak, arn
AgaXando vs. Good 4 Nothing Kyle: Looks like the Brazilians changed their name as they go up against g4n this week. On the snipers Bloodmaster for the Brazilians will roll over Till because he is unhittable and Till prone with a tommy on lan. Other than that, g4n will dominate the rest of the map. Look for seveN to put up huge numbers with the heavy in apartments and the rifle team of Dyelife and odm to do the same for g4n. G4n by 200+ Players to watch: Seven, Dyelife, odm Robert: g4n aka the cal main sandbaggers (you’re all going down!) will look to improve to 5-3 against some of the most unhittable Brazilians in cal. Luckily, rr1 is a rather open map so they can just shoot and chances are it’ll hit them in some crazy way. Sgbill and seveN will probably have it the easiest this match, since those automatic weapons are so darn nifty vs. lag, and till will probably be picked up and thrown on the shoulders of Dyelife, OR what I suggest, is he snipes long where he’s got a better chance of picking whoever, and sgderek and matt v rifle mid together, effectively de_stroying this map, and probably not letting agaX aka FunBox get mid once. Oh, and that odm kid will probably zook glitch train.
AgaX < g4n by 180+
Players to watch: dL and pretty much everyone on g4n, and whoever the sniper is for agaX cause he might be the only one on their team to go positive.
Happy Lizard Gaming vs. Vindicate Gaming Kyle: GLHF should be an epic battle. Robert: Effectively being “cut” from this roster, I’m going to go ahead and predict this match. I haven’t really heard anything much from the Flatout side other than nobody really likes them but they’ve let their record speak for itself, with their only loss coming against the talented invite move up in Nefarious Gaming. That being said, the only way this match can stay close is if all six of the starters from HLG show, and zono puts his head in the game. Not sure how much play time bosley has seen recently, if any with w0k. Drew seems to struggle on maps where he’s running a route that isn’t close with his heavy partner, so I feel like he’ll put up more of a fight on rr1. I think the last pred I wrote for VG I put I had never played with or against st|ck. Well, I recently did, and that kid is a phenomenal rifle. HLG’s mid rifle, probably zono should watch out because Dennis knows what he’s doing. Kyle lockdown will be running long against nugz, and assuming nugz has possibly gotten better since I last played with him which was like back at the beginning of the season, and in some 12 mans pre-season 17, long is probably going to be the most interesting part of this map, since the heavies will more than likely be called on to pop out of long window very often. Dekin is hands down one of the best snipers in main, or at least his team is really making him look good, as it seems he puts up 30’s match after match. Train car is where it’s really gonna come down to, so hopefully HLG doesn’t have to use a backup, and netro will probably claim this area for himself. Unfortunately, you can’t win railroad without mid.
HLG < VG by 80 or more
Players to watch: lockdown, nugz, st|ck, dekin
General Infantry vs. Substandard Kyle: Another mismatch here. On the snipers we will have Mr. Anthony Compton against pujay of substandard. I had the privilege of riding in a taxicab with Mr. Compton at w2z, and after I was able to breathe again, I realized that I had just experienced one event few people have ever survived. I know, I’m gifted and blessed. Anyway, Compton rolls here. On the rifles, we have Russ tweak and slaughter for GI going up against ender scora and loser of substandard. Russ and tweak are great rifles and should give substandard a lot of trouble, but if ender can hold them off, middle might more contested than most think. In apartments William “Sik” Blackwell and prostar will go up against goats and ThatsRight. GI should have apartments the entire match on road to an easy victory. GI by 150+ Players to watch: Compton, Russ, sik, prostar, ender, scora Robert: On your knees GI, I’m predicting your match this time!!! Pretty gay matchup, because sik’s aggressive heavy play is going to be slowed way down because he’s going to be forced to prefire/check every dark spot in aps the way –standard plays. Toeknee compton’s LAU sniper skills will complement the rifling of russ or tweak, I don’t know who at mid, while they battle scora and the other members of substandard. I haven’t really heard of Prostar fr4gging hard, but pretty sure russ has held consistently at the top of the scoreboard for gi, helping them overcome those play-once-a-week substandardians.
