k. me, sauce, and some others have been working on this this weekend and have come up with this list of possibilities for lan sites.
www.ntwlink.com pros: very, very nice suburb of the city, easy commute from either airport with a lot of places for hotels cons: havent visited yet, dont know specs, etc. other: there are two centers w/in a ten min drive of each other, dont know if that could be advantageous if there were to be a lot of teams.
http://www.cyberarena.us/index.html pros: EXTRAORDINARILY good setup for a lan type of event. lots of computers, not all top of the line but would run dods pretty well from my guesstimations cons: not such a nice location in oak park as naperville is, although it is closer to the loop (downtown chicago).
look at these sites, etc, give me some feedback. thanks
edit: cyberarena looks to have a shitload of sets, i was thinking maybe of having a dual lan, i mean 1.3 and dods to raise attendance. feedback

devon, honestly, if u dont think ud enjoy it, i dont give a rats ass about how high the quality of the lan is because imo everyone in this game plays like a little baby girl anymore anyway, so its always gonna be cal-o in my eyes until they fix reg/left peek

dmon, its not my job to get people from across the country to go to this lan, not everyone can just stop everything and come. im gonna advertise for it my way(which i expect sauce to do his stuff his way), run it the best i can along with some others, help the center, and play. its all i can do really, if you dont like that i said to keep the ridiculous negativity to himself, then so be it. more competition = bigger prize pot = better lan overall with more people having a good time. if you dont want to go because of my comments dmon, you have issues above and beyond what i can put into text. if u dont think im capable of doing this, its probably understandable. but im not an idiot, im good with people, and most people know this.
Enforcer1: There's Xatec in Schaumburg as well but I can't say how good it is. It's right next to my gym but I've never been in. Schaumburg is a bit more airport friendly than Naperville.

im not saying anything about his negativity just your final comment. maybe you should end your posts a sentence earlier, tellin people that you would gladly take thier money is completely insulting. I know you havent reached you peak maturity yet, but that doesnt mean you cant act somewhat professional in setting up this lan, after all you are trying to get teams to actually go are you not? so your comments will be held against you since you would be 'taking our money'.
claiming that a "PA lan is the best for DODS" is pretty funny, considering the (lack of) competition at both of the lans (a lan in texas, and a lan in so.cal both had more competition). in any event, if someone wants to set up a lan that's closer to him so that he doesn't have to spend a bunch of money to fly across the country, then let him do it. if it's too far for you, then shut the fvck up and don't go.
