As most of you know Day Of Defeat Source has never really had its moment to shine yet. It had that online tournament for 1k during season 1 or 2 and has had a couple of small lans. Although Txgf and PA Lan were both fun and semi-successful there needed to be something to drive its way foward. Well the community has gotten a response. Newegg Lanfest 2k7 is being held in the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario California from October 5th thru October 7th. This is a west coast based Lan but is obviously a bigger named LAN with lots of sponsors.
-To sign up for this LAN go to http://ems.esportsea.com/?a=register&eventid=515 . From their they will ask you if you have an ESEA account. If you do you need to sign in under that name if you don`t then you need to create one. After that you will be asked to join or create a team. You do not need to pay immediatly you can sign up your team and stay under the pending roster area. Eventually you can pay for yourself and be confirmed that you are 100 percent going.

as much as i hate dod:s; i hope this succeeds. your game is in a similar position dod 1.3 was 3 or 4 years ago. good luck guys.

a lot of other tournaments hosted as well. Should've put it up in the global section or whatever it is >< gogo dods aim maps :D

Yes a lot of other games are being hosted as well, but since dod:s is so small.. this could be our one true messiah for the game.

#14 any one banned from esea needs to send an email to lanfestinfo@newegg.com providing their current email address, their esea username, and why u were banned. each case will be reviewed and the ban could be lifted for the event

Gregus was banned because he is blind and uses his 12.1 surround sound headset to create a 3d environment in his mind and create where the enemy would be, so smoke has no effect on him

Prizes for all LANfest2K7 Online Qualifying Tournaments have been announced and follow the below format for DoD:S, CS:S, GoW, C&C3, and Tekken 5 ...

1st Place:
-Round trip airline ticket(s)*
-Waived LAN Tournament ticket fee (BYOC + Tournament ticket holders will receive a $25 discount)
-Top 5 seeding for LAN tournament

2nd Place:
-Waived LAN Tournament ticket fee (BYOC + Tournament ticket holders will receive a $25 discount)
-Top 5 seeding for LAN tournament

3rd Place:
-Top 5 seeding for LAN tournament

*Note: airfare will be sponsored by an airline which may or may not have a route to Southern California (ONT, LAX, LGB, SNA) from your desired location of departure. These tickets may be used at a later date. Tickets may not be exchanged for a monetary value or prize.
