DotA's most popular international online tournament, MYM Prime Defending, has just started it's eighth season. This time there was a short break between the tournaments, seeing as though the seventh season concluded not too long ago.

In Prime Defending 7 we saw Virtus.Pro defeat MYM in the finals bracket to take the Championship. Because of this, Virtus.Pro and 15 other teams move straight into the Group stage while other teams fight for a qualifier spot. Seedings were based on results from the last Prime Defending tournament.

The brackets for the qualifiers will be announced shortly. Qualifiers will be broken down into 6 regions; North America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, African, Oceanic and Asia. The teams that qualify will move onto the group stage with the seeded teams.
