The worlds second largest DotA site and community, DotAPortal.com, has announced a brand new league named DPEL and a ladder named DPL to its community.

DotA Portal is better known for its community rather than its competitive side; by adding DPEL and DPL they look to extend their player base and hopefully, break into the competitive scene with a bang.

DPL (DotA Portal Ladder):

DPEL qualifier, Season I - 8 best teams will qualify and the remaining 4 will be invited for DPEL which has a cash prize and hardware prizes worth US$ 1500.

Additionally the most winning team within the 8 qualified teams receives 6 Months CLUB DP.

DPEL (DotA Portal Elite League):

1-3 place prizes for DPEL's season I is:
300 US$ cash + 5 Sennheiser Gaming Headsets + 6 months CLUB DP (Total 1st prizes worth US$ 900,-)
200 US$ cash + 5 Qpad CT mousepads + 3 months CLUB DP (Total 2nd prizes worth US$ 450,-)
100 US$ cash + 1 month CLUB DP (Total 3rd prizes worth US$ 150,-)

This is truly the first competitive DotA team ladder. Usually ladder leagues are just players and not open to teams, hopefully this will revolutionize in-house leagues to include teams as well as players. teams will be active and the league will be competitive and be successful.
