Miss-Rinoa blogs about her first day at the Fire In Ice DotA LAN in Chicago! Pre-Tournament Day 1 Meeting the people you talk/play with online felt like it would be a lot easier than it is. A lot of times people are a different person, a lot quieter and just plain awkward. The guys from eMg are all so nice and fun to be around, we've definitely had a blast hanging out with them. On the first night, eMg, MYM and PMS went out to dinner at some pizza restaurant near our hotel! It was funny and awkward at times. My team felt kind of secluded, because all of us were sitting at the end of the table together. I think everyone has warmed up a lot more now though. Ignite Network is awesome! The guys here are so nice and so cooperative. The LAN center looks really nice and even though it's a little small, I like it. I think I would like private LAN centers more than some large musk-smelling event like Dreamhack. This is the kind of place I wouldn't mind spending all day in, and pretty much did. Props to the guys of Ignite, you guys own! Not to mention, me and Yoshi think you guys are pretty hot too! Hmm who else owns. Yoshi[p] does. He sent me a text message before my first match that said something along the line's of "May your arrows be hero magnets and may you disperse all that which does not come from a [P]" which is pretty funny, because that's exactly what happened. DAMN YOU MIRACLECHIPMUNK. My team would also like to thank eMg.DOGKaiser and Emperor for driving us around so we didn't have to get ripped off by bad cab drivers in Chicago who don't even know where they are going. Match 1- HF So our first match was pretty much a pub-stomp but I still enjoyed it. Of course, since we're the ladies of the tournament they had to broadcast our match on GGTV and WaaaghTV. I was a little disappointed, I expected a lot more positive responses other...but what can you do? I got the pleasure of soloing Priestess of the Moon top lane vs a tri-lane. Ouch. I tower hugged like it was my job. It was a good thing those guys were not aggressive at all, with 3 heroes you're supposed to tower dive! After a while my team just started running around and ganking them like crazy. We pretty much made them into sitting ducks, they could barely come out of their base. We out picked them and outplayed them, but I guess that was the motivating boost we needed. Kristina kept the map vision up with her hawk and the girls grouped up and ganked the other team really well. Even though it was an easy team, I am thoroughly proud of how far my team has come. Page:
