Klink sits down with former Frag Dominant player, Antherus 'xCyte' Ha to discuss his recent departure from Frag Dominant, his future plans and his general thoughts about the future of competitive DotA in the United States. Though less known in the world wide scene, Frag Dominant is one of Americas main teams. After reaching the HTGL-Pro Season One playoffs, and visiting the Fire in Ice LAN, FD seemed to be a team that wanted to make itself known. However, as time went on, the team was growing more and more inactive, and soon, Antherus 'xCyte' Ha would leave the team. We had the chance to sit down with him to not only get his feelings on his departure of FD, but also his feelings in the American DotA scene. What was the reasoning as to why you left Frag Dominant? I felt that after our loss in Pride #8 we just never played, we rarely scrimed and inactivity lead to the poor performance in the Fire on Ice LAN in Chicago. I felt even though a few people were trying hard to get the team back on its feet, it just wasn't enough. I made my decision to leave not because of poor play, personal disagreements or anything of that sort, Frag Dom just wasn't doing it for me for the competitive aspect of DotA. What are your plans after Frag Dominant, do you plan on continuing to play competitively? I took a break for a bit, started playing some WoW only to realize that its quite possibly one of the most boring games of all time. I came back less than a week later and started ringing for my friends team every now and then for fun. The fact that the pressure to perform was off, I found myself playing more confidently and playing the roles I like to play. Its stress-free and fun, something that tends to get lost somewhere in the midst of competitive DotA. At the moment I have no big plans, just going to play some IHCS and play with friends and some WoW on the side. Of course I will hangout with my girlfriend and etc. I can't find myself to get abused into IHCS1 to further improve my game play. I plan on playing in MYM Pride #9 with some friends. How do you think Team USA will do in the next Prime Nations #2 after a poor performance in Nations #1? As individual players, they have a lot of raw talent, all are well known players that have proven themselves to be at the top of their game. As a team however, it all depends on how much they practice before this tournament actually starts. I think that they have just as much chance as any other one of the stronger teams to take first place (Greece, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, etc). Who do you think the top NA teams are going to be in the next pride? I think the performances at Fire & Ice answered that question already, eMg and Pandemic are definitely the two biggest competitors in NA DotA at the moment. NA DotA is still developing in my eyes. I think if a team can just stay focused and most importantly, STAY TOGETHER, then they will be very successful. Any last words or shoutouts? Good luck everyone in frag dom, best of luck to you guys in the future. Shoutouts to Mr_Snafu / mEsH / Klink / Spikie / Peatearjennings for stomping TDAs with me. XsK_Enigma for teaching me to like midas / radiance on every hero. Finally to everyone thats helped me improve my play, especially those in IHCS.
