you can play cus all of ur shots register... and you have a general idea of where they are even tho you dont know where "the footsteps are coming from"
tr1p is one of the most underrated CS players from north american. He is a great strat caller and that really takes away from his actual skill aim-wise. I remember that one tournament warden called strats tr1p played alot better, he's had his good at bad days.

you just need some adjustment... you can tell where the footsteps come from easily once you've played the game more then 5 times.... of course if you play source then play 1.6 for 3 months and then switch back you wont be as comfortable, but if you stick to source only, you'll adjust yourself fine and wont have a problem to know where the footsteps come from
#9 in fact not just do all the shots register, but they have like a 300% efficiency doing that cuz I CAN HEADSHOT PEOPLE BY FOOTSHOOTING THEM ON SOURCE.
with all that noise #16 , you cant hear crap...i remember at cpl 2005 people were saying it was too loud to hear footsteps , this is way louder and footsteps are extremely faint in source

I use lol alot. Most of us do, but 1.6 fanboys actually make me laugh out loud... First, show me a realtime example of a headshot registering from an aimed shot at the foot and I'll lean your way. Not from a four year old fraps vid of a kid setting interp to 10.0. Secondly, how is it that I, a lowely CAL-eternal-open player, can follow a target through a wall by footsteps without an issue, yet this tr1p guy says they suck and that makes it true... I played 1.6... The footsteps are even more terrible in that than source. You kids can sit back and live your dream, but look at the cgs website, they already have divisions planned for EU etc. You'll all realize one day, that you playing 1.6 at even a pro lvl, is as much a waste of oxygen as me playing source in CAL-O.

I like both 1.6 and Source and I play both, but you 1.6ers make yourself look so dumb by using the same arguments against Source over and over again, as though they still matter.
The hitboxes were fixed in 05, the hit reg is great, the models arent hunched (some people still seem to think Source has beta models,) you cannot burst at the foot and get a headshot, you can do so by spraying at the feet, because there is a thing called recoil. I can spray at the foot and get HS galore in 1.6 too, so your point is? Footsteps are a weaker point of Source in my opinion, but its still perfectly possible to figure out where people are provided other sounds arent covering them.
Either way both games has its ups and downs. I personally like 1.6 more. The game has been out a lot longer making this game more whole than source. If you dont like the game dont argue about it, just stick to your game and leave it at that.

are we still arguing about this? i thought we all already KNEW CSS was terrible?
i can understand being bored with 1.6 and screwing around with CSS for a little while, but as far as overall game play, performance, and upholding the great name of Counter-Strike (haha, i know, i'm a nerd) as a whole... CSS falls a bit short.
