Another couple of rounds of MLG Online action have concluded and it seems to be the most important time for competition now. Recent competition has pit the top teams against others that had fought long and hard to make it this far into the upper bracket.

Teams Str8 Rippin and Carbon are facing more experienced teams as they progress through the bracket to the final rounds of the MLG Online Playoff bracket.

Let's take a look at some of the most recent matches that occurred this past week, as well as some of the bigger matches that will take place tonight.

March 6 Matches


Str8 Rippin continue to dominate competition as they take out DGK 3 games to none in what seems to be typical Str8 fashion. They are looking like perhaps the most powerful professional Halo 2 team to convert to Halo 3 as they retain their ranking from the past and then some.


In perhaps one of the largest changes in the professional Halo scene, we see Final Boss go down in what was said to be one of the closest match-ups in the entire playoff bracket as of yet. In the final map (team slayer) we see that Final Boss was defeated 49-50 as it came down to a last second frag by Team Classic. Final Boss will still have a chance in the lower bracket as they try to make it all the way to the lower bracket finals.


Another upset that was unexpected by many, we see Carbon go down in flames as they are knocked to the loser's bracket by an obviously superior team in Under the Influence. Much like Team Classic, we see a powerhouse in UTI as they try to make a name for themselves in the Halo 3 world. One of UTI's biggest challenges would be coming up next match as they face a very, very strong Team Classic in the upper bracket.

March 13 Matches

Add another win to the record of Str8 Rippin as they continue to dominate the upper bracket in convincing fashion. The only challenge they seem to have in the near future would be in the finals, which they may be able to pull off without a sweat. At this rate, Str8 is looking to be the Final Boss of Halo 3.


A very close match came to an end with Under the Influence coming out on top of Team Classic in the upper bracket 3 maps to 2. Obviously being a very close match, we can only hope for these types of matches to be popping up throughout the MLG Pro Circuit stops that will span the US and Canada this 2008 season. Team Classic and Under the Influence are both fighting for the top spots, even if Team Classic will have to fight to stay alive in the lower bracket from now on.

Now enough of the past, let's look ahead to some of the biggest matches in the upper and lower brackets.
