Final Boss has announced the release of star player Dave “Walshy” Walsh. Major League Gaming has announced on their site that star Halo 3 team Final Boss has released long time player and Halo star Dave “Walshy” Walsh. Ripples were sent across the competitive gaming world today with the official word from MLG Commissioner John Nelson that Final Boss has dropped Walshy from the team. This marks the end of the longest-standing triumvirate in Halo history, and has certainly come as a shock to many. Walshy, Ogre 1 and Ogre 2 have each in many ways become synonymous with the team name Final Boss over the course of their Halo careers, and their history can be traced back as far as MLG’s inaugural Pro Circuit season in 2004. StrongSide joined the roster at the beginning of the 2007 season (replacing Saiyan) and helped the team to have perhaps their most dominant season to date on his way to achieving similarly legendary status as a Final Boss stalwart. If he joins another team I will be happy. Walshy is insane, any team that gets him will be able to compete with Str8 Carb and FB.
Hope its a new team with relative unknown players so that another team can be able to compete.
O and why was he dropped? If it was because of the Ogres I will fking kill them.
#9 Same. This is all so crazy lol.
Walshy played very poorly at the last two tournaments and was a big part in them not making the finals and barely making the top 8 at each of them, so it isn't surprising that they make this change at this point.
I just feel bad for Str8 since Final Boss can basically take any player they want at this point, sucks to break up the team that has been performing so well.
I assume that the MLG corporation terminated him and that they are maintaining a fiction that the "team" dropped him. There is no independent General Manager of Final Boss to make such a decision.
Same point with respect to Neighbor. There is no GM of Str8 to release or trade Neighbor; the MLG corporation is just shuffling bodies around and pretending as though "teams" are making the decisions.
