During the season GameWyze decided to pick up Hawk, formerly from After Domination and Eminence, and lost meth. Why were these moves made, and how have they affected your team?

GW!lucci: Well after meth decided to leave halo and play lineage 2 full time we started having trouble getting five on to scrim, so y0 approached hawk and asked him if he would like to join, and ever since hawk has joined gamewyze we all have been more active which in turn has helped us be competitive in our matches.

GameWyze was seeded first in the playoffs after going undefeated with a difficult schedule. However, you have been "rewarded" by playing the defending CAL and CPL champions, Check Six. What are your feelings about the seeds in general, and with playing Check Six in the first round?

GW!lucci: The 1-8 seeds were done the way they should have been, but the remaining seeds i dont entirely agree with, check six had a great cap ratio and a very hard schedule so i had them as the highest seeded 6-2 team, but cal seeds them as the lowest. My feelings about playing them are, that actually out of any team in halo we didnt want to see check six in the first round, after getting demolished by them in last years playoffs our spirits are pretty low going into this week.

Several people have questioned the map rotation that will be used for the playoffs. With the lack of Blood Gulch, Halo's signature map, they might have a legitimate gripe. What are your feelings toward Sidewinder being used back to back and how do you feel about Blood Gulch being left out?

GW!lucci: I dont like the map sidewinder but if its going to be used its best to use it early and thats what cal did so no gripes there, but bg being left out is really surprising, icefields is a personal favorite but it has a tendency to be a defense map and i expect to see plenty of OT's when the map roles around.

Many people have questioned GameWyze’s latest roster addition, Hawk. Since he is not CPL eligible, are you at all worried that you might get used to his strong shooting presence that you will lack at CPL?

GW!lucci: No it doesnt worry me at all, we went 9-1 last season and lost to the eventual champs in playoffs without him, and we beat the team that had him earlier this season, having hawk makes our team better but we have proven that we can play without him.

Despite decisive victories over Eminence, Check Six, Wat?, and United 5, GameWyze was barely voted #1 on the most recent Gotfrag? Top 10 list. Even though you are ranked #1, do you feel at all disrespected since the voting was so close?

GW!lucci: No i dont feel any disrespect, to be honest i wish we were not #1 cause we like to keep a low profile (cept for hawk talking to trash to everyone on #halo.invite)alot of people complain about the gotfrag top ten that it is a popularity contest but what they dont realize is that oplaid doesnt half to do favors for the halo community by posting this stuff, we should all thank him for taking time out to get some halo coverage.

GameWyze has called Sidewinder their worst map while Check Six has always been relatively strong on the map. How do you feel coming into the match, and who do you think will be the key player on your team?

GW!lucci: Sidewinder in my opinion is our worst map but check-six is capable of beating anyone on any map so we cant let the map get us down, we going to half to be at the top of our game and whewt is going to half to come threw big for us if we want to have any chance of winning. If whewt and y0 have good games i think our chances will be improved tremendously but we half to keep kaeXo from sniping the hell out of us, and ive heard stivic is going to be playing for eVa. y0, stivic, and hawk were all on mofo if im not mistaken so we going to have a little reunion in the making.

This will be the fourth time you have played Check Six in 2 seasons, and right now you have a 2-1 record against them. What are your overall feelings about Check Six? What are their strengths and weaknesses?

GW!lucci: We are 2-1 against them but they had the most important win in playoffs last season. Check six are a bunch of good guys i look forward to meeting and playing them at the cpl. Im not sure about there weaknesses but there strengths are aim and team work which make for a lethal combination.

Who will start for GameWyze and where will they be playing?

GW!lucci: I only know three starters me capping, y0 and whewt playing the field, which leaves us two spots for morthul, roor, and hawk, whoever is here the most to scrim will prolly take the last two spots.

What do you think will be the keys of the match? Is there anything GameWyze has done specifically with Check Six in mind?

GW!lucci: The keys for the match will be controlling the others teams teleport and sniping. They will prolly outshoot us but were just gonna half to have some good timing and a little bit of luck. We havent prepared specifically for them, we prepare the same for any team no matter who we play but its definitely in our minds when were scrimming.
