#11 what community? the counter strike community? heh i think its been proven that the cs community will and has had no effect on the 1v1 community. This is for many reasons. The main two though are the skill gap. And the age difference. No offense to you 12-16 year olds out there but yeah the reason you die when you play a 1v1 is becauuse alot of us 20-25 year olds have been playing for 10 or more years now. This is also the reason for the huge skill gap. Also i dont think people other than pro's realize it but cs IS NOT a good game to judge skill on. How people can say a game that literaly dulls your reflexs is a great skill test is beyond me.

It should be noted that i have been playing half life based games now for five years. I have done it all from cs to dod to line of fire to hldm. and yes although i do understand a great cs player will own on a noob. people should realize that a great quake or ut player will out aim a cs player without to much of a problem.

Want proof? go watch dkt or fatal1ty or wombat. all of them are insta hs machines in cs.Why??? because they have been playing 1v1 games {quake3 mostly} for years now.

Painkiller is so much better than CS, yet most of these people won't even give it a chance because they can't do their midair AK headshots in it.

most of the people that play cs are young, and the only game they ever played is cs, and there scared of change.

#12, just to make a point Fatal1ty made a CSTeam, i-Fate. They got their asses owned so badly it was funny. Sure he can aim like a master, but a mobile firing platform really aint that great when you want to actually play with other people. Anyway, not dissing PK, I play it myself, but dont say the skill gap is big, it just requires different skills. On CS, there is no need to dodge bullets, yet bursting and moving while firing require way more skill than doing it on PK.

#18 its personal skill versus team skill. you will rarely see guys flip 180s midair while traveling at 30 feet per second and landing perfect awp shots. Both games are great People should note that i also like to chew out people that scream about cs:s being a failure.
also #18 i did some puging with john when he was playing cs his personal skill was amazing he didnt miss his tactics where good etc etc. However trying to tell him where to go when he was trying to aim...well lests say john was better suited for not having teammates

#12 Fatal1ty played cs but he didnt succeed. Cs is just totally different. Maybe aiming is more difficult in a fast 1n1 game, but for cs you have to have a team of 5 good players. you need to be socialy stronger and you need to predict where 9 other players are and what they can/will do. Which are 8 more people than in a 1n1 game.

Every player has other qualities and every game needs other skills.

CS is just a deeper game that why its as popular as it is, a transition from CS to 1v1 FPS is aim based, pure practice will grant success.

On the other hand transition from 1v1 FPS to CS is more difficult, because CS has a limit as to how skilled you can actually be, most people that attend CPL have already reached that limit, the difference is made by teamwork and game understanding more than aim.

#12 they own not because they play 1v1 games, but simply because they've been playing computer games for that long. Some 1v1 players suck at CS. Please try to appear to be knowledgable on what you are talking about.

hmmm, unfortunetly there are opinions that facts dont change, or logic. anyways just because you play longer does not mean you are good. cs doesnt totally nerf your reflexes either. it requires more strategy by far then any other 1v1 shooter. cant have much strategy without teamwork, eh? why does everyone have to disagree so affensivly, its just an opinion. i like painkiller and cs, i do enjoy cs much more online though. and as for outaiming cs players, maybe if they have a railgun, but thats a moot point, you dont say that a sprinter is gonna run faster then a weightlifter. you cant really compare players between games like that. people in the gaming community are so unfriendly sometimes, you are the only one who knows what you are talking about because you thought that quake2 was a good followup. you arent smarter because you play quake 3, and the point that it gives you better reflexes is cool but who cares if its not as fun as another game. why cant we all just be a little bit less absurd and just let everyone play their games without trying to act cool because you are older and play games or becuase you are in league of a certain game. gaming community is so bad in general.

I don't even know why I play CS anymore. I used to be a hardcore QWDM and QWTF player and was pretty decent, CS totally dulled my reflexes and killed off all ability to make sickening flickshots within miliseconds of seeing someone.

Might go and buy PK =]

I try to balance between CS and PK now... Its tough toggling between the two.
