![]() Even though you are considered the biggest gamer out there, how come you never give input about Painkiller balance changes/tweaks in the CPL World Tour forums? What do you think needs to be changed in Painkiller to become a really balanced Deathmatch game? I personally wish people would just leave a game alone. Let the developers make the game and play it how it’s meant to be played. If the game developers want advice, yeah, I guess give it, but personally I just want to play the game and win. Everyone is always trying to make a game feel like another game that they used to play. Why can't you just accept [that] it’s a new game and move on? Although you have a huge fan base and large numbers of supporters, many of the professional players in the community seem to dislike you and root for whoever you are playing against in the tournaments. What do you think the reason behind this is? It seems weird you would say that "many" pro gamers dislike me or would root for the other guy over me. I seem to have a great time with all of the pro gamers I meet and if someone has a problem with me, it’s probably because they never really met me. Can you tell us a bit about your future plans with Abit and your shootout tour? Do you plan on increasing the amount of Painkiller or any other game’s players sponsored by your organization in the near future? Right now with ABIT, we're working on coming out with my new video card and a couple new motherboards. We have the Fatal1ty AN8 SLI (AMD Based) and the Fatal1ty NI8 (Intel Based). The AN8 SLI is already in the market and the NI8 will be coming out very soon. Both motherboards are using nForce4. With our video card, we're coming out with the Fatal1ty X800XL 512 mb video card with vGuru. With the vGuru you’re going to be able to overclock the bios and tune up your X800XL to the highest level. Of course we could have done an X850 from ATI, but the X850 is a mainstream product that anyone can use. If I just slapped my Fatal1ty name on it, it wouldn't show any credibility to the Fatal1ty brand and our mission to making second to none products. We don't want to make a product that is the exact same as our competitors. We want there to be an edge when you buy [the] Fatal1ty brand, so when you buy a Fatal1ty product, you know a lot of design and engineering went into making the product the best of the best. About sponsoring other gamers and so forth, that’s definitely on my agenda still. We're trying to find ways to keep sponsoring more players and keep raising the bar for gaming. I believe our goal right now is to find more gamers from different genres of games and also different FPS games. Also, I believe we're looking to sponsor some female gamers as well, so we're definitely looking at the whole range of gaming. I don't believe we're acting on anything at this very moment, but by the end of the year or the beginning of next year, I believe you'll start seeing more F players! Another big announcement for this year is the deal we signed with Creative to make a range of products under the Fatal1ty brand. I believe everyone will be blown away by some of the features we're going to offer on these products! I've worked hand-in-hand with engineers and designers to make sure every detail is specifically designed to the highest degree. Do you believe that you still have a chance to win the World Tour? Definitely. Just have to keep practicing and keep going for it. Was your preparation to CPL Brazil any different than the previous stops? Did you change any of your game tactics or practice on your movement after Spain? Well, it was pretty much the same thing where I had to do a lot of promotional events before the actual CPL stop. So I haven't been getting in the practice I want, but a couple things I changed for CPL Brazil were probably the key to me doing so well. I've used mouse accel at every stop since day 1 of PK, and I kept trying to play the game like it’s an aim based game. But actually the game caters a lot more to movement, so I figure this tournament, I'm going to go for just movement and try to win the tournament with just being really efficient in my moves and always being faster than my opponent. Luckily, my strategy worked. I'm now using the MS 3.0 and no mouse acceleration and my game is better than ever before. It's almost scary to see how much my game has changed with no real practice and how much better I am now than I was when I used mouse acceleration. So all I have to do now is get more practice time in and start winning some of these CPL stops. I know it'll be tough, but I'm up for the challenge! Page:
