About GotFrag

About eSports
Competitive computer gaming, or eSports, has always pushed the envelope in computer hardware and software. From processor speed to graphics and sound to interfaces, computer gamers have demanded that new products and services keep pace with their appetites for competition. eSports grew out of a community of gamers who wanted regular competition--the chance to challenge themselves and each other to a great game. This community has continued to grow into a culture of gamers with branded hardware, software and even drinks. This amazing culture of early adopters, cutting-edge gamers, and devoted fans is the audience of GotFrag.com.

About GotFrag.com
GotFrag was founded in the spring 2002 with the intention of providing leading coverage of competitive gaming. Since our launch, we have expanded our coverage time and again to include the most exciting and innovative content online. Our focus has been on professional and semi-pro eSports news in the great tradition of sports reporting everywhere. With signature features like Midway's Melee, Behind the Gamer and our Event and League Previews, our readers know that the one place to get the latest and greatest eSports news is at www.GotFrag.com.

When we first launched GotFrag, our emphasis was almost solely on providing competitive gamers with news about Counter-Strike. Since then, we have grown dramatically both vertically and laterally. Nineteeneleven.org, the leading Day of Defeat (DoD) eSports site joined our site in the summer of 2003 to found our DoD division. In the spring of 2005, Battlefieldfrontlines.com re-focused their content onto the competitive scene and joined GotFrag as the BF2 esports division. With the growth of each competitive community, GotFrag has been at the forefront of the coverage, providing not just the latest in game coverage, but also the best in community news and forums.

Since then, we have expanded our content offerings to include  GameSense (the first statistical database for eSports), and the GotFrag Scoreboard (a convenient calendar of all upcoming matches).

After leading the space in PC based eSports coverage, GotFrag launched DPAD in April, 2006, which focuses on covering competitive console gaming. Games like Halo pushed competitive console gaming to a new level, and thus DPAD was born. DPAD also offers reviews and previews of upcoming console titles to gear up readers for what could be the next great competitive game.
GotFrag also launched GotFrag Hardware in October, 2005. We know about all the hardware review sites out there already, but we wanted to create one specifically for gamers. Who cares about 3DMark scores? Our readers wanted to know how many FPS they will get while fragging. GotFrag Hardware also provides Hardware reviews with the gamer in mind, focusing on the most important aspects of a peripheral to a hardcore gamer.

On June 6th, 2007, GotFrag joined the Major League Gaming (MLG) Digital Network, as a wholly owned subsidiary of MLG. On that day, GotFrag pledged to the community “More and Better”, in a letter to the community from Lee Chen, President of GotFrag.com. GotFrag will continue to work towards its pledge and tradition of unbiased, professional journalism and will continue to devote itself to covering competitive eSports as it grows.

Today, we reach over 700,000 unique visitors a month, average 10 Million page views a month and have over 700,000 registered users. By joining MLG, we again reach for new levels in eSports coverage. We plan to continue our coverage of our leading games and expand into other games that have a competitive following. Our emphasis is and always has been on competitive gaming and competitive gamers.
