I would just like to welcome everyone to our new forum and hope you get alot of use out of it. State your questions, concerns, and anything else you want to talk about concerning GameSense.
I think that GameSense should open up to other leagues besides Invite.
That would require alot of work, but it would help the community more, since the community seems just to surround CALi and worship them as a God. Maybe add CALp and m since those matches I think are better to watch.
Long term we plan to open it up to many different leagues. Current plans have CEVO-P, CPL World Tour and German league EPS all to be covered by Gamesense in the coming month. We are also in talks with other leagues.
The limitation is the ability to get the needed information before matches happen to do live updates. Because of the size of leagues like CAL-O, CAL-im and even CAL-M it seems near impossible in the near future to provide this level of stats to those leagues on a 99% completion that we demand. If we can't reach that level we don't want to put the stats up because it will hurt the reliability of those stats.
This was a major factor for us not putting up Summer CPL 2004 and WCG stats, we only had about 50% of the logs from both of those events as the two organizations formatted a portion of their gameservers before we could get them to deliver the logs to us.
#6 we have the ability to do that right now - that information for each match has been recorded from the start. Right now it isn't displayed, but look for this and other neat comparisons as the system continues to improve and grow.
So points anyone? In hockey both G's and A's count as a point, just as a thought valuing a frag as 2 and an assist as 1 point.
Also this(gamesense) in the future could really help out with the GF rankings. Say for example you are trying to determine who is #1 between NoA and N!P and theyve played 6 matches and both won 3. Then you look at gamesense and notice that in NoA's wins they are averaging a total team frag advantage of 25 whereas in N!P's they are only averaging 5. Well then NoA gets number 1.
I know it's not as simple as that but using gamesense to add on to such factors as value of events, attendees etc... might make the rankings more justifiable.
