We at GotFrag TV are always looking to improve on what we do, so that being said, let us know what you think of all our various broadcasts so far. Tell us what you like, what you dislike, what you want to see more of or less of as well! As long as you keep it civil, we love to hear feedback!
ok guys, I am listening to you guys. you do a good job, everything so far is good. some of you tend to stutter when talking, I don't know if your nervous or anything.
the rest is great.
the gotfrag coverage is a lot better than any european league/lan.
hi my feed back would be its really nice to have poeple doing what your doing i wish you could cover every tournment its great i thank you for your time my only advice is cover more !
I love it, the green screen gives it a bit of an odd look but other than that I love it. Props too cheben and vince along with the other casters, best in eSports. Graphic wise, aslong as they're small but easy to see it's all good :)
I prefer to watch broadcasted matches in SourceTV rather than on GotfragTV because I like to have control over who I spectate. I love your commentary, but SourceTV and GotfragTV don't sync up. GotfragTV seems to be a minute or so ahead of SourceTV.
I would like to see more pros casting or experienced players that can bring an in-depth view into the game. You guys do an amazing job though. I love those clips you guys play when you go off air too.
GotFrag needs a more solid and consistent "theme" for graphics. Take a look at TV broadcasting channel graphics they all look similar and flow really well. I wud like to see GFTV look a bit more professional
both hosts are pretty decent.. 1 bad thing about cheben is that he repeats and drags on things like a never-ending cheesestring. he also needs to improve his verbal skills.. too much pauses =/. though, he does have great opinions/points =).
Good coverage. Never lags. Good setup and effects.
Terrible analysis. That's pregame, during the game, post-game. I don't even like listening to any of the casters in the roundtables, just the guests if anyone. This goes for all of the casters (although thanks for keeping jesuit in check today violator because he goes way off) including midway. The only people I've enjoyed hearing cast on gftv have been warden and dkt. Get some known people that don't stutter and know what they're talking about.
Would be nice to have a pro player commentate so we can see exactly why they're doing certain things, instead of just rifling off game statistics. There are tons of little things that play important roles.
I hate source but was a big complexity fan back when they played 1.6. I still enjoy watching GFTV even though its source because not only are the shoutcasters good and know the game unlike some of the other organizations that used to shoutcast, but they talk about more than the map over and over again when they need to fill time in. Knowing what vince and mark think about promod, cgs, source, and other events around the world is always nice to hear. Also, octoshape is so nice it never buffers.
Its nice to see some people sticking up for what CGS did to our sport and that was the best part of the weekend in my eyes. Good job guys , keep up the good work and I hope to see some 1.6 events (if there even is any) that you guys get to broadcast some day in the future.
p.s.: Portal credit music = genius~!

I really really enjoy watching Gotfrag's Coverage of events. I have to say that Both casters are very entertaining and though they do have there quarks I think for non professional announcers they do a very good job. I also like how they go into other games that are out and give some insight into them as well.
One of the things that I would like to see is, during breaks especially long breaks play more clips from games like cs 1.6 or cs:s or old school 1.5 clips from movies or from previous events. The clips from the Newegg Event were good but there was only like 2 minutes worth and on constant replay.
#27 we do have a lot of stuff coming for breaks we just didnt get it ready in time. Thanks for the suggestions all. I have about 4 years of ideas I am trying to get going. :)
I don't like that I can't full screen the VoD's is unless I go to brightcove itself . Also the quality seems to go up when I get the video from brightcove itself.
The music in between during the cevo finals wasn't good. It was really quiet and the songs I could hear didn't fit. If you're going to use music you need to use the media more wisely.
Overall GFTV is real great. I've gone over to buddies houses to watch matches and everyones loved it. The commentary between matches sometimes gets a bit repetitive but it's kinda expected you only have so many Issues to talk about.
I have to put in a compliment to Vince this time too, I forgot to mention him in the Lanfest thread. You do a stand-up job Vince, you keep things running smoothly and give the whole presentation a very professional feel. Dosen't matter who you are with, there are no awkward moments or strained dialogue when you're presenting.
Mark, as I said in another thread, is also superb. He speaks well and it's like having a guest pro to commentate on every game.
Why was there so much third-person specing, though? While most of the action was caught in first-person, there were some moments were decent frags were missed because the camera was toggling back and forth between the two views. Just stick with first person, please.
The chase cam is just a waste of time in my opinion. We can see how the game is shaping up on the map overview thing with the red and blue dots. The rest of the time I just want to see what the players see.
#36 The first few matches I tried some things with 3rd person. As you know in Source being blind really sucks so the only time I went 3rd person was to either show the set up of an attack or if a first person camera was blind. A third person camera does not stay blind as long.
Even when using 4 first person cameras you can have a full team being blind and miss shots. Specing CS S can be odd as being blind does not always go away when you switch to a new person.
IE, rambo is blind, switch same pc to anyone else and your still blind. I have also noticed that sometimes as a spectator you are blind longer than the player who was flashed.
I hate missing a shot more than anything. Nothing worse than knowing 3 guys are getting ready to die and all your screens go white and I have to show overhead. It is still a work in progress on the CS Source side of things. We will keep working to bring you better shots.
Considering the various limitations you have to deal with, I think game coverage is going really well. I'd have more complaints if I didn't know how hard it is to get the perfect viewpoint.
As for what CAN be fixed? As previous posters have mentioned, fix the music. The music you've been using has been mostly dull, if you play music while you're talking it's too intrusive, and when you DO play music you need to keep the volume balanced. I've heard it so low that, on top of everything else, you can hardly hear what it's supposed to be. Having background music while viewing rosters and such is great, just moderate its use, and keep it off during matches.
Personally, I'd love it if the stream was up 24/7, either showing (clearly labelled) re-runs of previous games and events, or just showing up-to-date information on teams and upcoming live shows. Something for the future, maybe?
If there's anything I would ask for in a limitless universe, it's better camera work. Unfortunately, spectators get flashed the same as players, which is aggravating, and the camera controls are just plain bad. The occasional going to third person is okay to me, but honestly, whenever you have the option of first person, use it. I'm more interested in seeing what players see than an overview of the battlefield.
In the same vein, there's too much focus on the overview map at the beginning of a round. Toggle occasionally between the map overview and first person after the respawn, catching players buying weapons, and checking the overhead map as the players fan out across the map. It makes the start of a round seem more lively; just staring at the map for a full 30 seconds isn't much of a lead-in to me.
Beyond that, the coverage is overall great. I enjoy it so much that my biggest complaint, above all else, has to be that there's just not enough games to watch to satisfy me. Thanks to everyone involved in making it happen. Your work is highly appreciated.
I would like to be abble to download the vods instead of having to stream, i dont have much download for peak time so i wanna be abble to download at night wand watch em in the morning :) thanks.
Oh and i love gotfragTV you guys are doin a great job keep it up
kenru - I have an internet phone, I was able to post while I was out and about.
Great job at Kode5 ,hope to see you guys at the big international events next year, maybe with some luck eswc/wcg will see how good of a job you guys do and you have intelligent casters. I'd love to see you guys cast some of the better teams in the world

Really like the job you've been doing so far. Would be nice (and sorry for me being a noob here) if you can change the view. I mean, I like watching with my IE full screened but there is to much brightness when doing so, dont know if you can change that. but if you could it would be Great.

you used "they had to call the police" like 10 times, while it doesnt mean much. sorry for beeing picky, but :)

Question on the music...did you guys that dislike it, dislike it during the ingame, the out of game, or both?

(when the score is 10-10)
Edit: I meant on NUKE, sorry. Apologies if I just made you watch the whole of the inferno game for no reason.
Edit 2: It appears to work now anyway. So either you fixed it, or I'm just stupid :)
