19" monitor problem

i have recently purchased a 19" monitor and when im done connecting and all and got my cs on with my 640*480 resolution didn't work well and it was all shrinky and smaller and just weird. i wonder if there's any way that i could alter my view in cs to the 17" display or some other kind of solution. tnx for all the help!

oo and i have about 100$ budget for a screen card what's my best option for my money? nvidia is first option

Assuming your speaking in terms of American dollars, the ATI 2600XT, or Nvidia 8600GT/GTS would both be good choices.

#4 from what i read about the 8600 his not that good and i would be better off with the 7600 even..

If you are ever unsure about that kind of thing you can always check out benchmarks and reviews on one of the various hardware sites around the web...

Perhaps what you heard was that while the 8600 is a DX10 card, that it will in fact not be powerfull enough for most DX10 games. It should still however outperform the 7600 on DX9 level operations.

Alternatively you could also go with the ATI 2600XT, which would be another viable option.

the 8800gts is 115 on newegg after a mail in rebate. i paid 280 for the same card last year...its a monster
