Rules:
FFA: Single elimination. Each round will consist of 6 to 8 players, depending on player turn out. The top 4 players in each round will advance if there is more than 1 round. Finals will be played best out of 3, on 3 different maps.
General Information: Halo 3 tournaments are "MLG" based rules. They will be the exact rules downloaded from MLGPro.com All Games will be also be played on the MLG modified maps. Early game rounds will be “Split Screen” with 3 other players, later rounds will be in "2 People Pe Screen". All players must BYOC (Bring Your Own Controller). * Please bring a wired controller if you have one. If not will have some for use that day.

Full Double Elimination: WINNERS and LOSERS brackets. The winners of the LOSERS bracket goes on to challenge the winners of the WINNERS bracket. In order for the winners of the LOSERS bracket to win the tournament(s), they have to defeat the winners of the WINNERS bracket for the duration of 3 FULL MATCHES.
What that means: WINNERS of the LOSERS bracket, will have the chance to play the WINNERS of the WINNERS, in a winner takes all finals. Which will consist of 3 rounds, each round being played on a different map.
General Player Rules: 1. All participants are asked to behave and follow all NexlLevelVideoGame rules. 2. No communication between players and spectators, also no coaching from spectators during FFA games. 3. No looking at an opposing team's TV by players . 4. Any sign of cheating will result in a forfeit of the game. 5. No quitting out of a game. 6. In case of a FFA tie game, the Tiebreakers are (in order): Points, Kills, Deaths, Assists, Shots Hit, Hit %, Player v Player.

Sorry for double post. There is a problem with the maps that could be easily changed. Epitaph without a doubt is one of the worst maps in halo 3. 90% of MLG will agree it is in the bottom 3 besides Big team battle maps(maybe even including them). Maps with shield doors have always been a no-no in MLG. There are 2 great changes that could be made to that.
The first map you could use is Cold Storage. It will be released for FREE on july 7th in the xbl marketplace. It is a remake of the Halo 1 map Chill Out. It is a fan favorite, one of the best maps of halo 1. It was used for FFA in halo 1. Bungie did a great job at making this map as close to the original as possible while updating the graphics. This would ultimately be the best map choice.
The second choice is a forge-edited foundry variant. It is called Hype. This is a made that was made for FFA. XL Hype by Feign will be the official Halo3 FFA map to be used at XL on 25th July. Screenshots and links to the download can be found here: http://www.mlgpro.com/forum/showthread.ph..
