I'm a guy who really prefers higher friction cloth mouse pads for control. To my understanding, the Fatpad (which I used for years) is EXACTLY the same as a supermat no? Reason I'm asking is because I just got another supermat shipped to me and they are now rediculously thin? Were they ALWAYS thin like a Qck+ or did they just start making them this thin recently?? I thought they used to be thicker which I prefer because it adds more comfort. If anyone sill uses one, or has seen them for sale at a local staples, could you comment for me and let me know if this is the case??
btw, I also got a qck+, puretrak talent, and alsop raindrop XL that I'm testing out for anyone thats curious and wants answers about those cloth pads
FATpad is the same as a supermat. Some people actually believe the colors of a supermat represent different levels of friction. Purple being the roughest and black being the smoothest.
When it comes to friction...highest to lowest:
#1 QCK Heavy #2 A washed supermat/FATpad #3 DKT pad #4 QCK+ #5 plastic pads
#2, but have you seen supermats anywhere lately? if u go to the actual handstands site of the company that makes supermats, I ordered one recently, and they are now THIN like the qck+! which sucks!! I'm curious if anyones bought a supermat within the last year or so, because they've clearly changed the thickness level to their mat which blows. Right now I'm using an allsop xl which is great, but i wish it was a little bigger.
Yah Bro I can definitely help out with the "more friction" debate because I have a qck+ (not the heavy), a puretrak talent, an Allsop raindrop XL, a supermat (thin), a FATpad. I managed to get another supermat (thicker regular version) shipped to me which Ill have soon, and Im also gonna be trying out the brand new puretrak Complexity talent edition within the next week or so.
I'm assuming you prefer more friction which is why your asking? The order of highest friction to lowest friction based on my own experience with all these pads is as follows (most players would also agree):
The Allsop XL by far has the most friction, and I love this pad, great control. I just wish it were a bit larger,
The Supermat is high in friction as well, little slicker than the Allsop, but its great, can't go wrong. It's got the friction for control and its a little bigger and thicker than the allsop xl which adds comfort. The Allsop definitely is a little slower.
I've only used the QCK+ and not for long, its definitely slicker than a supermat because the material is more tightly woven. I havent used it extensively, but apparetly they wear quite fast, adding friction day by day.
The Puretrak Talent is the smoothest/slicker of the bunch, BUT still offers incredible control. I prefer higher friction (I'm in the minority) because I like to "feel" my mouse moving on the pad, but I have to say the puretrak talent is easily the best pad of the bunch. For this reason on my own opinion Im using the Allsop becuase I like to "feel" the mouse moving, stopping, etc. due to the extra resistance/friction it offers.
However, Puretrak has a NEW talent coming out this week called the Complexity Edition which is 7% roughter than the original talent. I think this may take over as my pad of choice once I get it in to me because its big/thick and will offer more "friction/control" that I'm looking for!
SAME PROBLEM. these new ones hella blow.. i have the old purple one but its in bad shape. so your saying the new complexity puretrack is the way to go ?!
#10 where did u get the thicker supermat shipped from !?!?!
New Supermat vs old Supermat

do you know which mousepads have the most friction?
